Dollars, Delights and Donations!

Have you ever wondered what to do with the bags (and bags) of candy your children get for trick-or-treat?  Have we got a deal for you! Our office is holding a candy buy back program!  We will purchase all your excess candy delights (unopened candy ONLY) to the tune of one dollar per pound, up to five pounds per family!  Then, we will  donate all the candy  to our hardworking military service people overseas as a special treat!  (By the way, we'll also send them toothbrushes, toothpaste and floss.)

Bring us your extra Halloween candy on:

Wednesday, November 2nd, 9am - 7pm

9500 Mentor Ave. Suite #280, Mentor, OH 44060

Tell all your friends, too!

 Keeping Your Child's Sweet Smile

Even if you donate much of your candy to our troops, we know your children will want to keep some of their loot! How do you let them enjoy the sweets and avoid tooth decay?  Here are a few quick tips:

1. Make sure they brush twice a day and floss if they are old enough.(Mom and dad, you can help if they're not.)

2. Sticky, gummy candy is a big culprit in cavities. Limit the amounts of those types of sweets.

3. Choose sugar free gums. Believe it or not, they can also prevent tooth decay by fighting cavity causing plaque!

Teach your youngsters moderation when eating sweet treats, both at Halloween and throughout the year. And don't forget regular cleanings and check-ups!

Dental Insurance: "Use It Or Lose It"

If you have dental insurance through your place of business, consider this: You may not realize some insurance plans cut off coverage at the end of the calendar year, and begin again after the new year. What might that mean to you?  Here's an example: If you are allowed two dental cleanings per year as part of your covered services, but only use one this year, that cleaning may not "roll over" to 2012 - you could lose that benefit!  Patients are sometimes unpleasantly surprised to learn they no longer have access to that treatment.

We urge you to schedule an appointment before the end of the year for any necessary dental work you have not yet completed. Both you and your employer may be paying into your plan, so it's a shame to let needed maintenance lapse. If you have questions, don't hesitate to call our office!

Have a great day!
