Melanie D. Palm, M.D., FAAD, MBA is the nation's youngest doctor to be tapped as a physician trainer for Sculptra, and she was one of the top 5 utilized physician trainers in 2010.  This elite group of trainers only instructs dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and oculoplastic surgeons because the training program for Sculptra is more rigorous than those of other injectables.

Dr. Palm herself has trained over 40 dermatologists and plastic surgeons on the use of Sculptra in the following states:  California, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio

Dr. Palm was the first dermatologist to speak about an intraoral technique of administering Sculptra at the 2010 American Society for Dermatologic Surgery national meeting in Chicago, IL. 

Patients love Dr. Palm’s unique intra-oral technique, because bruising can be minimized dramatically.  Product is delivered through the gum, and the gum area is numbed so the patient doesn’t feel any pain.

Dr. Palm is also an expert is using Sculptra to treat sun damage lines on the décolleté or chest.  Her patients have been thrilled with her experience in this area as so many women in the beach community suffer from these unsightly wrinkles.

In addition to training other physicians on best practices for using Sculptra, Dr. Palm is an accomplished writer and has published several articles on its application in peer-reviewed literature.  She is the first author of a review article on the cosmetic use of Sculptra in 130 patients published in 2009, and for her work she was awarded the Young Investigator's Writing Competition from the journal Dermatologic Surgery and the organization the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery for her work.
