'Tis the season for turkey, cranberry sauce, boots and scarves! But, for all of us here at Collins Dental, this time of the season is about being thankful, and sharing our blessings with our patients and our community. 

We started this past weekend by hosting our Patient Appreciation BBQ. We had such a great time with you all and your families.Thank you for joining us for games, giveaways, Backwoods Boys BBQ, face-painting and the pie-eating contest! Below is just a snapshot of the fun day, but all the photos will be posted to our website and Facebook soon, so keep checking back.

Our next order of business during this season of giving is to open our doors to the public and provide a filling, extraction, or simple cleaning FREE OF COST to the first 80 patients in line. This November 21st, 2015, for the third year, we will host our Smiles From The Heart free dentistry event. To date, we have served 187 patients with over $68,000 worth of free treatment. We look forward to continuing the tradition this month. Please join us in spreading the word to deserving individuals who may have fallen on hard times, and are desperately in need of dental treatment. The doors open at 9 a.m., and patients can prepare by filling out paperwork in advance on our website.

FARM-TO-YOUR-TABLE: 

Brittany Lyne, patient of Collins Dental, recently took time out of her busy schedule to tell us about her and her husband's unique and fascinating business, which prepares clean, nutritious and delicious take-out and delivery meals for health-conscious families on the move. Farm-Haus is located in Audubon Park in the East End Market.

NOVEMBER TEAM MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: 

Lizbeth has been working at Collins Dental for two years! Patients will recognize Liz as the bright, cheerful woman who greats them, answers all their questions, and takes their calls with a smile :)

A NOTE ABOUT HALLOWEEN: 

In previous years, we have hosted a Halloween Candy Buy Back, collected your candy, and sent it to Operation Gratitude. In return, Operation Gratitude would create care packages for our brave men and women in uniform. This year, because we are preparing for Smiles From The Heart  we will not be having a traditional Candy Buy Back party. We will, however, still collect candy at our office to donate to OpGrat! Please feel free to donate during the week of Monday, November 2 at Collins Dental. 

END OF YEAR BENEFITS:

If you had a hole in your pocket, you would want to fix it before you lost your wallet and your money, right? Surprisingly, many of our patients "lose" hundreds (even thousands) of dollars each year because they fail to use or maximize their insurance benefits or flex spending allowance by Dec 31st. Once these benefits are gone, they are lost forever....and don't role over to the next year. So if you are in need of an exam and cleaning, or any additional dentistry, please give us a call to schedule...before it's too late!
