Spotlight on World Diabetes Day PVMG wore blue on November 14th to unite for diabetes. Our staff helped to spread awareness by passing out stickers and educational materials to patients.

It’s Not Too Late to Vaccinate!

Have you gotten your flu vaccine? “When it’s after November and you see signs and banners in your community that advertise, ‘Get Your Flu Vaccine Here,’ you might think, ‘Isn’t it too late for that?’ The answer is no! ‘Flu season typically peaks in February and can last as late as May…We are encouraging people who have not yet been vaccinated to get vaccinated now’” (CDC). Giving Back

Palos Verdes Medical Group stays active in the South Bay community by sponsoring and participating in local events, charities and other initiatives. Please let us know if there is something you think we should get involved in or if there is any way we can help support you in your charity, event or fundraiser.

Here are some great, local ways to give back this holiday season:

• The Volunteer Center food drive - collection box for nonperishable items at the PVP Chamber of Commerce
• Kiwanis Club food and toy drive - collection box at Opus Bank, RHE
• Toys for Tots - collection box at The Promenade on the Peninsula 

If you would like to make a donation to any of the charities listed above, feel free to drop them off at our office and we will make sure they get the right place!

Upcoming Events:

Complimentary Newborn Baby Care Classes -Tuesday, December 11th & Wednesday, January 23^rd, 7:00 pm at Palos Verdes Medical Group

Our one-session newborn baby care class is free of charge and open to patients and community members. Both new and experienced parents are welcome. Topics such as breastfeeding, bottle feeding and infant care will be covered. Class is taught by our office manager Michelle Smith, who has a Master's in Public Health and is a Certified Childbirth Educator, and one of our pediatricians.
