Happy spring and Happy Easter! While candy will always be a staple at Easter, your baskets don't have to be filled to the rim with candies and sugary items. There are plenty of alternatives to the items that fill your child’s Easter basket, such as board games, arts & crafts items, or sports gear. Unlike every other household, your gift baskets won't be filled with tooth-decaying sugar but with unique and fun items that show how much you care. Whichever you choose, what is truly important is that you give your offerings with a smile and celebrate the spirit of Easter within you.
However, if your little one will be consuming chocolate bunnies, peeps, and jellybeans, remember to keep your toothbrush handy to ward off bacteria that would like to enjoy any excess sugar on your teeth.
According to the National Confectioners Association, nearly 90 percent of adults plan to give Easter candy baskets to their children.
As you enjoy these tasty, confectionary treats, remember to thoroughly brush your teeth following the consumption of Easter goodies.
Employee SpotlightThis month, we are spotlighting Dawn Presley.
Dawn has worked with the team at Foothills Pediatric Dentistry since August 2008. Growing up in the military, she has lived all over the world. She has called East Tennessee home for the past 10 years, following a job opportunity her husband Larry attained with a local aerospace company. Their spunky 11 year old daughter, Taylor, keeps them busy with her active schedule of dance and sports. In Dawn’s spare time, she enjoys hiking The Smokies, exercising, traveling and taking in the local arts. She also keeps busy with her other children, Cody & Katie…her 4 legged furry companions. Lately, she has found a creative outlet in developing FPD's newsletters! :)
![]() CONGRATULATIONS!
Congratulations are in order for Courtney G.! She won 4 tickets to Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies from March's contest. This month's contest is registering to win tickets to the Knoxville Zoo. On April 20th we are having a theme day! This month's theme is "CRAZY HAT DAY". We invite all patients (and PARENTS!) scheduled on that day, to come in with their silliest, goofiest, crazy hat and join us for a little fun!
Let's hope these April showers bring us May flowers!
Have a great day!
