It's that time of year again! As hard to believe as it is, summer is almost over, and the kids will be heading back to school before you know it. Before the hustle and bustle begins, take a minute to schedule a dental cleaning for each of your children. 1. Use a common shoe organizer to plan all 5 outfits for the week on Sunday. Prevent the morning scramble to find clean shirts, matching socks, and the elusive other shoe. Make sure school shoes come off as soon as your children come home and go directly into the drop zone or closet. This way you will not be searching for a matching set while trying to get out of the door on time.

2. Create a homework station. Whether it is a desk, a corner or just a basket, having all needed supplies in one spot prevent your child from getting up during homework time. Limiting this movement will help to keep their minds from wandering in the process. Depending on grade level, some good items to keep in the homework station are: dictionary, sharpened pencils, pens, White Out, blank paper, paper clips, highlighters, Post-it tabs, index cards and a stapler. 

3. Take the hassle out of packing lunches by stashing "lunch-only" items in baskets in the refrigerator and pantry. Have a go-to-list of healthy options to pack. Kids tend to get bored throughout the year and not finish lunches, so variety is key. Try to over-pack with a few non-perishable items. Children are more likely to eat a complete meal when they can make a choice between healthy items. Great ideas to pack include deli meat and cheese roll-ups, hummus and pita, banana, cherry tomatoes, yogurt and popcorn.
