It's hard to believe that summer is nearly over and we are heading into autumn, with an official start on September 23rd. We hope you had an enjoyable summer filled with vacations, family time, and fun!
By now, your children are all settled in their 'back to school' routine. Your children's oral health is even more important than ever. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Brush before school.
- Encourage your children to brush right after their after-school snack.
- Discuss healthier alternatives during their school lunch. Keep in mind, one small carton of chocolate milk has 6 teaspoons of sugar!
- Wear protective mouth guards while participating in school sports.
- Brush and floss before bedtime - every night!
EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT
This month's employee spotlight shines on Marsha Herron! Marsha has worked for FPD since March 2004 and has called East Tennessee home for her whole life. She has 2 boys, Malik and Dae-Dae. Away from work, you can find her cheering on her two Alcoa Tornadoes or trying to keep up with her new dog, Pandora! Marsha is always busy planning her next Disney World adventure!
CONGRATULATIONS!
We are so happy to announce our winners of the art contest! It was an incredibly difficult decision, as all of the artwork was very creative! We had three age groups. In the 3-5 year old age group, Colin K. (5) won. In the 6-9 year old age group, Kylee T. (6) won. In the 10 year old and up group, Ryan E. (10) won.
We will share their artwork in a future newsletter! Each of the art pieces will be framed and hung in our office. Thank you all for your beautiful masterpieces! Our contest last month was to register for a Limo Ride to School! The lucky winner was Carter C.! Congratulations and enjoy your ride to school with your friends!
We'd also like to thank those of you who participated in the School Spirit Day! We had a lot of fun with you kicking off the new school year in style!

October 28th: Halloween dress up day! Join the staff in some spooky fun as we dress up as your favorite characters from "The Wizard of Oz" and vote on your favorite pumpkin creations - decorated by each team member!
EXCITING NEWS!
We are very excited to dedicate September 30th as our Annual Charity Day. This marks our 4th consecutive day of giving! Dr. Drew and his team will be donating their time and 100% of revenues on that day to a local charitable organization.
Over the past few years many patients have participated in this special event. We hope that with your continued support we will be able to help more worthy causes and enhance the operations of many charities.
To date, FPD's Charity Day has raised nearly $20,000! We look forward to this very special day and we thank our patients, charities and their patrons, for all you do.
