My visit on March 19th was truly an unsatisfactory one. I did not receive a thorough cleaning and nor did I receive an appropriate exam. The hygienist had me waiting for a half hour after the “cleaning” and no doctor was available to do my exam. I didn’t receive the fluoride treatment nor was I offered a care bag. I’ve been coming to Southland Smiles for over 4 years and I’ve never experienced this type of unsatisfactory service. More importantly I never received a follow up call regarding not receiving my exam which is extremely disappointing.

The dentist for some, is not always the best experience for some, hence, no dentist for me! Southland Smiles is everything that a dentist should be. For the biggest baby, there is nothing to fear. The staff is friendly, the chair-side person and the dentist (him or her) elevates every question of the fear factor, with a play by play of the "chore" at hand. Kylie, the hygienist was very personable, caring, informative, and reassuring! She provided an excellent procedure! Disappointed that my favorite dentist, Dr. DeBenedetto was unavailable! He’s the best! Want him back! I did meet Dr. Nasser for the first time and felt comfortable enough to give him a chance! He has a good disposition and was very sensitive to my needs! He provided great advice and reassurance! I prefer evaluating this way rather than Google or Facebook!

I visited Southland for the first time for a general check-up and x-rays. The office was clean and attractive. Who knew that I would need so much dental work (hadn't been to the dentist since December of 2018 when my long-time dentist retired)?!?! The entire team from the front desk, support staff, hygienists, business managers, and doctors were friendly and accommodating. They fit me in for a temporary crown immediately and routine cleaning after that. They made the process as pain-free as possible. Everyone I encountered was welcoming and made sure I had all of the information about my dental health, procedures, and cost of services. I have found my new dentist's office!

Hello Dr. Mantoan, I appreciate your survey that coveys your interest in your business and patients. I came to your office after not being satisfied with another Dentist’s (who was recommended on our neighborhood group as a great dentist) services and he refunded my money and I let him in good terms. My temporary crown broke and his dental assistant told him that she broke my crown and he let me leave with a broken crown. I explained to him that my niece was a Dentist that now works out of state (for the last ten years) and I am familiar with excellent service and that’s why I choose your office! I came to your office expecting this service. Unfortunately, Dr G did not give me excellent service because she wanted me to leave your office without a temporary crown. My tooth was left with nothing on it since she had removed the broke temporary crown. I came to your office wanting to get a new crown, because my crown had broke. Dr. G started telling me I needed to have my tooth pulled and I became very anxious because of this, so I had to go to the washroom about four times and I guess this aggravated Dr G. She did not want to attend to me any longer. They too my blood pressure and it was high and it is because I did not want a tooth pulled so that was unexpected as I had a bad experience from a tooth being pulled. I was happy when your office manager told me that I would not be leaving until I got the temporary crown. I thank her kindly! A dental assistant put the temporary crown in, I think her name was Sussy, not sure and and when she finished my partial no longer fit in my mouth but I told her that was okay as I had av10:00 am appointment and I left after I:00. I did appreciate her help and then Dr. G inspected the crown. Sadly, it broke again!!

My only complaint is why am I called so many times to verify I will be there. Also thought it was strange that the young lady who called to confirm kept asking if something was wrong. I told her I was coming for a general check up three times. Finally I asked if it was strange to come in for a general check up because I was beginning to think so. My partial was not fitting well. I saw new dentist at your office who told me nothing could be done, I then knew I needed to see Dr, Atarchi, who had fixed the problem before, Dr. Atarchi added to the partial and it fits well again. I was recommend it to this dental office by my sister-in-law I live in Olympia Fields not too far from the office so I thought that it would be ideal for me to change my location from Indiana to close to home but the minute I step foot into the office I did not feel comfortable I felt that I was not welcome and I had to have medical problems and I’ve missed a few visits but I always call to cancel my appointment then I was told if you’re going to continue to cancel your appointment you should call us around 8 o’clock in the morning so that we can give you an appointment. Well I did that and I still was not treated like a patient and I’m sorry to say that Tom I canceled all future appointments and I will not be returning to your office for father dental work, I did see him Dr. Brown she’s a lovely person but seem to have a little attitude problem but that’s my take on it and I will not be returning you asked for an opinion and this is what I’m giving you thank you

I am sorry to say I was very disappointed at my last appointment. Dr G gave me a very superficial exam. I’ve been going to the office for 30 years and never had to ask the hygienist to have the dentist come back in to do the cancer exam. Also she barely looked in my mouth. She did not check the gums etc. it might be time for me to move on.

The reason I'm giving a one star rating is because last time the hygienist cleaned my teeth and it was billed as a cleaning and I didn't pay anything. This time around, I'm getting a bill for $250 dollars. The dentist at the time did the same cleaning as a hygienist. They didn't remove my dentures like they said they were going to to clean the implants. I don't understand. There would be a high charge but the stayed in my mouth cleaned around the implants with like a water high powered water pick it felt like. So I'm really disgusted with the bill and the service there. I don't know which change in the year. And they did a repair and build the wrong insurance company. I didn't even have this insurance company at the time and they build up. No wonder it got kicked back. They did a follow-up phone call me and asked me to come in because they said I haven't been there since March of 2021 for a cleaning.. when I was in there on Saturday October 15th for a cleaning They call me two days later. And when I question the bill they said it's because the doctor had to remove or clean around the implants and that was false. They never took out my top or bottom teeth that day. They cleaned it like the hygienist usually cleans it so I don't know why I'm getting charged this amount of money on the bill!!! 😡 Also they said I can have a cleaning once a year since they have to remove the teeth. They made a schedule for 6 months for another cleaning. I'm not paying $250 for that cleaning. That's ridiculous when I have dental insurance that covers cleanings for implants. So someone can please call me between the hours of noon and 4:00 Monday through Friday to explain this to me. That would be much appreciated.

I’ve been taking my daughter here for years. This is the first time I left very uncertain about returning. Got to my appointment early. Got in fairly quickly. She was there for her 6 month checkup. I sat in the lobby over an hour waiting for her. The hygienist comes out finally and says well everything looks good. Did X-rays and fluoride treatment which was fine but she never saw the dentist. He was busy with a root canal. So instead of making you wait longer I didn’t see any concerns so schedule another appointment for 6 months. So their you have it. I’m glad she didn’t see any concerns. First time I left being very disappointed in the treatment we got.

Dr. Rasberry was Great! I had a tooth ache and needed to have the tooth extracted. He was very personable and explained what was going on with my tooth as well as showing me the xrays of the area. He let me know what my options were in taking care of my tooth ache. He took his time and made sure I was okay during the whole process. I am all good now! The office was very welcoming and clean. This is my new dentist office now! Thank you Dr. Rasberry.

Dr. DB is the best. I'm not the best patient! Had a tooth extracted yesterday. It was painless and everyone made me comfortable. Had a nice warm blanket put on me when I said I was cold. Today it doesn't even hurt and isn't swollen. No one even blinked when I had my stuffed animal with me for support!

Upon arrival on every appointment, the receptionist greets me and temperature check me. The wait for my appointment is always short, less than three minutes. I came in for a Gingivectomy procedure which would be followed my the veneer application once I healed. Marilyn, the DA, waited and prepped me while I waited on Dr.Brown which wasn’t long. I didn’t might because is ALWAYS a pleasure to talk to Marilyn, she’s such an amazing person. Since I first switched to Southland smiles from my previous dentist I LOVED MY DECISION. Every visit Marilyn always asked how my day is and current events that’s going on in my life while keeping it professionally. The Gingivectomy itself was great, minimum sensitivity like very slightly after the procedure. It’s because I followed the doctors orders leading up to my appointment. Dr. Brown explained everything she was going to do before and during the process. I loved the result and visit!!

My experience at Southland Smiles was above average. I heard about the practice and wanted to explore the office. My initial visit was the best experience yet from a dentist office. I made a call and asked if I could complete paperwork via email prior to the visit. I was sent detailed information and directions. The Covid protocols they have in place made me feel safe when walking throughout the facility. The space is super clean and protected. The communication among the staff is spectacular. They check-in with each other to make sure your experience was explained in detail. Every cost was explained and every service was described in detail prior to any work being completed. Each specialist introduced themselves and explained their craft. I live in the city of Chicago and will continue to travel to this office. This is a very nice location and office and front desk staff were accommodating.They were clear about a dental plan and the cost. I went a got a great cleaning and then back for the real stuff. Fillings! Even when i talked to emergency care on the weekend. He was really helpful, I believe it was Dr. Mantoan(Not for certain, just was happy to get some relief from whoever was able to give me direction. But the treatment after my fillings with Dr Brown left me with a bad experience . And very nervous to go back or any where for that matter. And after that first check up call when she found out I was in pain she advised me to take Aleve and that was it. She never called me back. And when I asked for my records they sent them immediately with no problem. And when I responded back to ask for a manager. I never got a response back....... So i assume they don't deal when trauma is involved. And that will not work. Got to be there for the good and bad. Especially when surgeries are involved.

This was the most phenomenal dental appointment I've ever had. All of the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. As a first time patient, I received a full tour of the facility, a welcome gift and a discount on my first service. I also deeply appreciated the amenities in this facility such as massage dental chairs, hot towels, etc. All of the dental professionals I interacted with made me feel very comfortable and minimized pain. Dr. Brown explained all of my dental issues with me and gave multiple suggestions to fit my needs.

I haven't been to the dentist in years and I was nervous about returning. Hope and Dr. Van did not make me feel bad about being gone for so long. They were very accomodating and supportive. I felt safe going into the office that every precaution has been taken within guidelines of CDC for Covid. My hygienist (Stephanie) is friendly and made me feel relaxed. She even remembered I like to travel. I love her professionalism. I appreciated her recommendations on my oral care.

No One Likes the Dentist; a common thought and saying for most people. However, being a client for so many years at Southland Smiles, I will admit going to the dentist isn't something that you have to dread. They are wonderful and continue to make the patient as comfortable and as well informed as possible in every area. I might add that they are infact "all smiles!"
