Dr. Dave and his team are awesome! My 8 year old recently needed an extraction, and I was nervous how he’d handle it. They talked him through all the steps in a non-frightening way. They made him comfortable with nitrous gas, and he didn’t react negatively at all, even to the local anesthetic injection. We were done quickly, and my son left with another positive experience! All three of my kids love Dr. Dave, and we are so happy to have found this dentist!

As an adult with extreme anxiety about the dentist, one of the best decisions I've made as a parent is taking my daughter to this practice. I landed in the hands of Dr. Treff at the recommendation of a dental assistant, after the third failed attempts at getting my daughter's cavities filled by other dentists due to her strong gag reflex. I have been going to this dental practice with my daughter for the past six years. The drive from Arlington to Burke is worth it for me, as not once has my daughter had a negative experience with any of the staff members. Quite the opposite, she enjoys going to the dentist, and she is now 14! Pediatric Dentistry of Burke is helping me raise a child who will one day be an adult without anxiety around going to the dentist. From the moment you walk into this office, you know children are a priority. There are colorful murals throughout the waiting room and office. There is an open space where children can see with their own eyes, other children having a positive dental experience. Unlike other dental practices, this dental office has child size equipment, such as molds for x-rays, which is huge if you have a child with a small mouth and strong gag reflex like I do. The entire staff is warm and welcoming. Dr. Treff is hands down one of the best pediatric dentists in the DMV. He is personable and knowledgeable, always backing up his recommendations with what the current research says. I recommend him to everyone.

All the staff we interacted with from check in to check out were friendly. The tech and dentist were very kind to my 2 year old and knew how to talk to him at his level. Lots of stickers and cool toys made my 2 year old at ease too. The only improvement I suggest is to offer larger toys at the prize tower because the tiny gum ball sized toys are a choking hazard for toddlers.

I've been taking my kids to this dentist for about 8 years and Dr. Treff is AMAZING! He is wonderful with kids. He has a way of making them feel comfortable. There are TV's on the ceiling to keep them distracted. The office is very clean and the staff is friendly. Highly recommend.

My oldest child loves Dr. Dave! He's amazing and so is his staff. He makes kids feel comfortable and excited to come to the dentist. On top of that Dr Dave helped my youngest get over her initial jitters and she walked away excited to come back to the dentist again. She says he is so fun and silly which is exactly what my kids need, as well as an amazing teeth cleaning.

We highly recommend Dr. Treff and his staff! We were going to another dental office closer to home for some time but our 3 year old son hated going there. It always ended up with a lot of crying and screaming but at Dr. Treff’s, there was no crying and now our som is asking when he’s going back to his new dentist! Thank you for such memory!

At my son’s routine cleaning Dr. Treff recommend seeing an ENT. His recommendation was life changing for my son ( I’m not exaggerating). We started on a 8 month journey of getting in to an ENT, x-rays, a sleep study, and finally surgery and recovery. Eighty percent of my son’s airway was blocked. When they did the sleep study they found he stopped breathing at least twice an hour. Very scary news to hear about your four year old! After his tonsils and adenoids were removed he was a new child. He is so much happier and involved in the world around him. Now, that he is actually sleeping he is thriving in everything he does. Before the surgery his days were filled with meltdowns, tantrums, hyper activity, and he hated school. Now, he is happy and he wants to learn, he is so inquisitive, he will sit and read with me, he will chat with me about his day, he has an amazing imagination I never got the opportunity to see before. His teachers comment on how well he is doing socially and academically, he has made so many friends this year. I would have NEVER known there was an issue with his tonsils and adenoids if it wasn’t for Dr. Treff. And I have a feeling there aren’t many dentists that would have taken the time to figure this out or mention it to me. We could have gone years without realizing there was an issue. Thank you so much Dr. Treff!

Thanks for being so patient with Oliver as he slowly gets more comfortable with people touching his teeth, flossing, etc. He always speaks very positively about the office, the hygienists, and "Doctor Dave," and we (the parents) are also extremely impressed with the office and the staff. We can see him improve little by little at each visit, and we're impressed with how wonderful everyone is with a kid who's a little scared to be in that chair with people looking in his mouth. We really appreciate the level of care and the friendly, clean environment.

It was a great first dental visit for my twin toddlers. The doctor and staff were friendly and made my kids as comfortable as possible. The office was clean, kid-friendly, and I think the kids liked the colorful art on the walls. We will continue to take our kids to this dentist.

Everyone is very kind and courteous. Their bedside manner with my 11 year old had me in awe. Very relatable and appropriate conversation with her that she really enjoyed. My daughter commented on how nice and sweet everyone was. Definitely a white glove experience. We had a slight delay seeing the dentist for our checkup and they apologized multiple times. I appreciate the respect they have for my time.

My twin boys have been receiving dental care here for about 5 yrs. My boys love coming here. The waiting room set up is nice too. When you have small children, they tend to get impatient. I like how this facility is fast with the appointments and dental exams. Dr. Treff and his staff are top-notch!

The dental facility is very kid friendly. We love the aquatic theme. My boys loved the new treasure tower at the end of their dental visit. I thought the treasure tower was an awesome idea and have never seen anything like that before. I feel the staff is family friendly and professional.

Great practice overall. The wait was longer than usual. I am hopeful that it was unusual and not an indication of what I should expect in future appointments. The bay was full of kids done with cleaning, waiting for the doc.

We visited Dr. Treff on recommendation from a FB mom group. I had taken my eldest for a cleaning at another Burke dentist and our experience was awful. I had been looking for a new dentist so I could get my toddler in for a cleaning. Unfortunately, before I could schedule a cleaning, we needed an emergency visit due to an accident that happened on vacation. Dr. Treff and his staff were wonderful. Dr. Dave himself is personable and understanding. He also told me that if I had ANY issues at all to please let him know. We received good news and bad news about my son's tooth. They were also gracious and squeezed in my sons cleaning at this emergency appointment. My almost threenager allowed them to take an Xray AND brush and floss his teeth!! We will be back in 8 weeks to see about the tooth, and I plan to make followup visits for both boys for their cleanings :) I have dental anxiety myself, and this practice made us feel right at home.

We have been going to Pediatric Dentistry of Burke since 2018 and have since moved overseas. We still return once a year to see Dr. Treff. Being able to bring in three children, have them all get their teeth cleaned at the same time, and get their exams done back to back all in less than 45 minutes (if that!) from coming in and leaving is wonderful for busy parents. Dr. Treff has also worked closely with my family squeezing us in for extra appointments when necessary before we head back overseas. He understands the transient lifestyle that often comes along with the DMV area. Additionally, my husband and I had a conversation after the last visit about how clean and cared for the facilities are. This is well run practice from all aspects. I cannot recommend enough!

My son has severe autism and Dr. Treff and his team go above and beyond to take care of him. He’s offered to let us come sit in the chair without and appointment and offers a separate room. He is willingly to go slow and willingly to go fast (which we prefer). Wouldn’t trust anyone else!

Every visit has been great and my kiddo is always excited to go for her cleaning. Dr. Treff and his staff are all extremely friendly, thorough and patient. It took several attempts to get X-rays but because of the dental hygienist’s patience and kindness we were able to finally get them. My 5-year old was so proud of her accomplishment and excited to see pictures of her teeth. We love this dentist!

We had a wonderful visit with Dr. Treff, Ms. Sonia, and the entire staff at Pediatric Dentistry of Burke. They were all so wonderful with my 4 year old son. They did a great job of making him feel comfortable with what they were doing, and they not only explained everything to us they did the same with him. His favorite was probably getting to brush the shark's teeth! I also love that the waiting room is so welcoming with a kids movie playing, fun seating, and a corner with games. It helped to put the kids at ease before going in to be seen for their appointments. I've already recommended them to some of my friends with children that live in the area. We're looking forward to our next visit!

The staff at Pediatric Dentistry of Burke are incredibly kind, patient, and helpful with their very young patients. Dr. Treff has helped my three year old son get so comfortable with seeing the dentist that he wants me to pretend I'm a dentist when we brush his teeth!

Dr. Treff and his staff are AMAZING! As you can imagine, bringing a toddler to the dentist is not very fun. However, Dr. Treff and his staff make my son and myself feel very comfortable every single time. They are VERY good with kids, and Dr. Treff is quick and efficient during the cleaning. From the waiting room to the assistants to the dentist to the treasure chest my son gets a toy out of at the end, I highly recommend this practice!

We have been going to Dr. Dave for about two years and we love him and the staff. The techs are so nice to the kids explaining everything they are going to do before cleaning their teeth. My anxious 4 year old doesn't even like waiting rooms. This office has them calm from the minute you come in the door. From a child friendly movie playing or computer monitors to play kid friendly games while you wait. The various screens with kids programming while they have there visits was fantastic. My child was excited too look up from the chair and find Doc McStuffins Playing on the TV. Staff was all very nice and welcoming and I was very pleased.

Dr. Treff and his staff are knowledgeable and gentle. They get kids, so my children enjoy going to the dentist, and I appreciate how they handle issues, from cleaning to having to get teeth pulled. I feel like they treat my kids like they were their own. I also appreciated the office staff, who were thorough about my insurance so that I would be sure that Dr. Treff would be in my plan, something I did not get from another dentist's office in the area.

We had to have an extraction on my 5 year old due to trauma from a fall. He was very anxious about it. Dr. Treff did an amazing job of explaining things in a kid friendly way while still allowing my son to feel in control. Dr. Dave not only showed how well he knows dentistry but child psychology as well. The extraction (wiggle) was successful and the anxious little boy didn't bat an eye and even told me after that it was super easy and didn't hurt a bit.

My kids LOVE going to see Dr. Dave! They have been known to do the happy dance around the house the night before their visit. I have always been impressed with the entire practice. They have such a great set up for the kids! Dr. Dave is so great with the kids and the parents too. It’s the one doctor visit I don’t dread taking the kids to. They are also super fast and efficient. The visit for all 3 of my kids lasted 30 minutes total. That makes for a happy mom! I recommend Dr. Dave to everyone who needs a pediatric dentist.

Wonderful high tech super kid-friendly office. My 6 year old even noticed and commented on the murals on the wall. The entire staff made her feel at ease. She even got to pick which movie she wanted to watch while in her chair.

I was very hesitant about my son’s first dentist appointment. He just turned two and brushing is a chore at home. He went once with his older brother to observe. Dr. Treff and his staff treated him like he was the patient with a goodie bag and treasure like his brother. On the day of his appointment, he enjoyed exploring the office while we waited for Dr. Treff. He was calm and comfortable. Dr. Treff has an amazing handling technique that is magic! No struggle, no tears, and clean teeth! Absolutely love this office!

Great experience at this office! Previous to this visit, we took our two year old daughter to the same dentist my wife and I use who typically see adults, but also accept children. Although they did see my daughter twice, it was obvious they lacked any training in working with young toddlers and the experience was extremely disappointing and frustrating. Given such, my wife and I looked for a pediatric dentist and our first visit at this practice could not have been better! The minute we walked in the door, we knew this place was focused on kids, from the animated movie playing on the large screen TV in the reception area to the numerous colorful paintings and pictures hung from the walls that are geared toward children. The staff was welcoming and got us thru the new patient process quickly and efficiently. Even though I had my reservations from our previous dental visits at the other office, Dr. Dave was wonderful with how he handled our daughter and the experience was highly positive. Both he and his staff knew exactly how to walk our daughter thru the check-up procedures in a friendly and non-intimidating way. It was a complete, 180-degree change from the first two dental visits to my wife and I's dentist. We look forward to continue visiting with Dr. Dave and Pediatric Dentistry of Burke for all our daughter's dental needs.

We moved to NoVA two years ago and tried one other pediatric practice before finding Dr. Dave. Yesterday was our third visit (we go every 6mos) to Dr. Dave. Many thanks to Dr. Dave, Christina and Karina (?) for their patience. A year later, while I still have an anxious little one (5yo; even with a walk thru the office last week), Dr. Dave took his time as he wants N., who has been previously hospitalized, to be comfortable even if it takes short frequent visits -- to say hello, to do a quick looksie & teeth count as we work our way up to a hopefully tearless and fearless cleaning. He could easily just make us hold her down as he does what he needs to do, but he is committed to making dental visits fun, not traumatic. N. is super anxious (crying in the waiting room) when it comes to *any* doctor visit. We are thankful that Dr. Dave is super compassionate and amazingly patient. It is so apparent that he 'gets' kids and knows how to build a relationship with them. We look forward to being part of his practice for years to come. And at the end of today's visit, once N. calmed down, she said -- 'I like this place.' :-)

We love going to Dr Treff. I have never seen a cleaner office of any sort --wed all/dental in my life. The staff is so friendly and there was no wait, both boys done at same time. We love how they are very knowledgeable yet they don't make you feel like they are judging you (I my son was thumb sucker long time, etc etc). Everything exceeded our expectations!

It's always a pleasure to see Dr Treff and his staff for 6-month visits. The office is modern and clean with a great waiting area for kids--fun artwork and cartoons. We are bringing our toddler in for fluoride, basic monitoring, brushing, and to acclimate her to going to the dentist. The staff are super friendly and put my daughter at ease even though she is very protective of her mouth. Also when they saw me use sign language for "thank you" with my daughter, they noticed right away and asked how to sign "you're welcome". Couldn't ask for a better pediatric dentist!

Everything you're looking for from a pediatrics dentist office. My husband was able to attend the visit this time and was as blown away by the care that I was. Reception staff is great. They always extend a warm welcome, explain costs, and work quickly to get you checked in. Dental Hygienists are friendly and genuinely enjoy working with the kids. They take the time to ask what will make your child most comfortable during the visit. Of course, Dr. Dave is awesome. Great with kids, very patient, and always tries to make sure your child is comfortable. Every time we go in, the entire staff actively tries to make it a positive experience for my daughter. Lots of stickers and when we leave, she gets to pick a toy from the treasure chest. When we left yesterday, my daughter spent much of the car ride home talking about the treasure chest and getting to "brush the fishes teeth" (there's a stuffed animal fish that kids can play with to practice brushing their teeth). I would highly recommend Dr. Dave & Staff!

We've never had a problem with them, until yesterday. My son is always great when we go there and he let's the hygienists and dentist do what needs to be done. Well, yesterday Dr. Dave was looking in my sons mouth.. stretching it pretty far and it was hurting my child. So naturally, he wants to remove what is hurting him. Dr. Dave found it necessary to raise his voice at my son and have a hygienist hold him down. How on Earth is a child supposed to tell you something is hurting when you have your fingers in their mouth? We will NOT being going back. It scared and hurt my son to the point that he was holding back tears and didn't even want to pick his stickers or treasure prize. Way to traumatize my son of the dentist at four years old.

We had a wonderful experience with Dr. Dave. Our three kids (ages 7, 4, and 1) all walked away happy and well cared for. The staff was friendly and fun. Dr. Dave did a great job explaining what was going on so that no one was nervous and what he needed from them so they could behave properly. Best of all (especially for my youngest) is that the care was thorough and efficient. We weren't hanging around or drawing out services unnecessarily. I walked away feeling confident about what the kids need for their future care and as a military family was very happy to work with a staff that was understanding and supportive of our needs. I inquired about a "just a hello" visit before our next appointment in six months, and Carina(?) was receptive and mentioned that all I needed to do was call ahead of time. Dr. Treff and his staff were very informative and thorough with their delivery of directions and information for the procedure that was done on my 3-year old. It was like watching a perfectly orchestrated play. Everyone worked quickly, cohesively, while mainting constant care. I am a huge fan of Dr. Treff and his staff. Giana was previously seeing another dentist and I did not feel that she was getting the best care (good care, but not great). My daughter actually looks forward to coming here. The staff are incredibly sweet and friendly and Dr. Treff is amazing with both of my children (he was able to clean my 1 year old son's teeth without causing a meltdown...miraculous). Dr. Dave is amazing. My son was terrified of the dentist when we came to Dr. Dave. Yesterday he had to go in with what we thought was a cracked tooth, but it was filling that had fallen out. Dr. Dave was able to repair the tooth with my son wide awake and he even assisted in helping to get it done with no anesthesia. Dr. Dave has worked with our son over the past 2 years to gain his trust and he now goes to the dentist without getting upset. Before he wouldn't even let the Dentist clean his teeth and would cry and throw a fit when it was time to go! Thank you Dr. Dave!

We've been to Dr. Treff's office twice: once when my daughter was 13 months and again at 19 months-- challenging ages for letting someone in your mouth during the pain of teething--but the staff found ways to calm her and get the appropriate cleaning and fluoride treatments done. My daughter seems to have fun during the visits and also enjoys getting a toy from the treasure chest at the end. Dr. Treff also did an excellent job answering my questions, setting expectations for my child's teeth development, and sharing tips for teaching my child to brush. We're on the path for establishing a good dental home for when the visits get more involved as she ages.

I took my 2 and 4 year old to Dr. Treff in the past week for both of their first visits. They went perfectly. The ladies who greeted us were kind to me and fantastic with my children. The hygienist explained everything that that "Dr. Dave" would be doing that day and showed my kids all of the tools. Dr. Dave included my kids on every conversation he had with me, he got to know my kids and was very understanding of their nervousness. I could go on and on with my praise for this practice. My four year old asks to floss no less than 5x per day. :)

We met Dr. Treff this past summer and not only did he provide excellent care, he was so great with my son that now he willingly goes to see "Dr. Dave". My son chipped his tooth. The following morning I called the office to find out what I was supposed to do. Dr. Treff's staff was very responsive and clear with the directions. They requested I send a photo of the tooth in for Dr. Treff to review so he could make the appropriate recommendation. Within a few minutes of my sending the picture we had instructions and an appointment for the following morning for repair of the tooth. Dr. Treff was excellent at explaining his rational for the recommended repair, and as always, was very clear when letting my son know his expectations and explaining the process of the procedure. We have had THE most positive experience with Dr. Dave! We have five children and the first four dread the dentist. Our fifth, the only one that we have had see Dr. Dave, actually thanks us as we drive into the parking lot for taking him there - and he has had crowns, fillings, and extractions! My daughter is normally afraid of doctors, nurses, or anyone wearing a white coat. From the time we arrived at Dr. Treff's office she was unusually calm. We walked back and she jumped in the dental chair with no hesitation. This shocked me considering visits to the pediatrician we had to hold down just so the doc could check her vitals. After Dr. Treff sat down and explained what was going to happen he suggested I hold her in my arms like I was hugging her. My daughter said no I will sit in the chair. Dr. Treff was able to do the exam with no problems. This office is great!!!!

Our experience was great. From the moment we walked in the door with the front desk staff, who let her pick out a show to watch while she waited, to the hygienist to Dr. Treff. My 4yo daughter has been seeing a dentist since she was 1.5yo. We recently moved, and we've been on the hunt for a child-friendly/centered practice. We are so grate to have found Dr. Dave & his staff, who are super patient and compassionate especially with my very anxious child. As soon as you enter the office, the practice's fun ocean-themed space puts any young child at ease.

Dr. Treff and his hygienists and staff are wonderful. My son has been very scared his last few visits but they took the time to show him all of the instruments and get him comfortable. They were very encouraging and helped him feel more at ease.

Pediatric Dentistry of Burke is excellent, from the moment you walk in to the visit summary emails you receive after the visit. Dr. Treff and his staff are top notch. More importantly my daughter thinks so too, she isn't scared of dental work and loves going in for her check-ups.

My son is 5 and my daughter is 2. Dr. David Treff was their first experience at the dentist since they were about 1 yrs old. The office is extremely clean, cute theme decor and obviously very kid friendly. The dental hygienists are very pleasant and Dr. Treff is amazing with kids. He is very conscience about kids having a positive experience at the dentist and wants to make sure that kids are comfortable so that they don't grow a fear of coming to the dentist in the future.

Dr. Treff and his staff are wonderful. The staff is very outgoing, knowledgeable and welcome you into the office with warm smiles. Dr. Treff is kind and caring when working with kids, answered all of our questions and did a great job showing and explaining proper care for a pre toddler. We will definitely be going back.

Dr. Treff is a wonderful pediatric Dentist. My son is very happy and pleased with Dr.Treff. He explains everything in detail about the procedure wether is 6 months check up or tooth extraction. His staff in unbelievable friendly, courteous and very proffessional .

Our general dentist referred us to Dr. Treff for my 4 and a half year old son's dental work. We met Dr. Treff for the initial consultation and my son decided that he wants to be a dentist when he grows up. That decision hasn't changed since the completion of the work (restorative work and a tooth extraction under conscious sedation). He keeps asking when we can go back. This was not the case after his first filling with our general dentist. Dr. Treff was gentle with my son, thoroughly reviewed the case and our options with me, and completed the necessary dental work more quickly than he initially thought possible, enabling us to put my son under sedation only once. We're quite pleased.

I highly recommend this Dentist to EVERYONE! My daughter Clovia was referred to this office by her general dentist (GD) to have her teeth reevaluated by a Pediactric Dentist to rule out potential medical problems due to facial drooping. The receptionist contacted Dr. David Treff's office (located directly behind our GD) informed the staff of my daughters medical concerns and urgency to have the revaluation conducted asap since she was not coorporative during the GD exam. The office for Dr. Treff closes early on Wednesdays for emp meetings, etc. and although they were not accepting appointments they immediately agreed to see her without hesitation! I was dreading putting her through another dentist chair fight and as I walked threw the door my concerns were laid to rest. The phycility was kid centric, receptionist was extremely welcoming and Clovia was so distracted with the fun modern layout that she and my two other little ones felt right at home and so did I ;)

We had our first visit to the office yesterday. It was excellent. Staff was amazing with my kids-- very thorough, developed great rapport, and did not rush them. My boys thought Dr. Treff ("Dr. Dave") was awesome, and he is. Very good experience. The office esthetics are also very cute, pleasant, and clean. A great set-up for kids. Highly recommend!

Ryan did not complain at all when he got home about any pains from the dental work and was able to go to school the next day. We are very happy with our experience with Dr Treff, Dr Treff's staff and the Fairfax Hospital staff.

Great Experience! All 3 of my kids (7, 5, and 2) had a great experience with Dr. Treff and his staff. The kids seemed very comfortable and the staff did a great job letting the kids know what to expect. Office was clean and staff was very friendly. Son loved getting treasure from the chest and watching cartoons while getting his teeth cleaned. Everything was done efficiently and we we done in less than 30 minutes. Conveniently located to home for a short drive.

After quite some research I decided to take my 4 yr and 2 yr old together for their first dental appoinment. The kids had a great time and were not scared at all. The staff was amazing and the doctor was very thourough! Needless to say, both kids had their check up together, no tears and big healthy smiles!!! I'm very happy i found Burke Dentistry!!!

Both of our sons (2.5 and 4.5) see Dr. Treff. His office is so nicely decorated and everything is geared toward making it a wonderful experience for kids. As parents, we appreciate how detailed he is with explaining things and all of his staff goes above and beyond to make the kids feel comfortable. Additionally, our younger son has some developmental delays which sometimes shows in behavioral issues. He had zero issues with seeing Dr. Treff and we're so relieved to have found him to care for our boys oral health!

Staff was friendly, inviting, easy to work with, informative, and absolutely excellent with my daughter, who has had more than one poor and frightening past dental experiences. A full, written plan of care was provided with projected costs. Options for payment were discussed. Dr. Treff was quick but thourough in his exam and explanation of my daughter's dental needs. His interaction with her made her feel comfortable and cared for. When we left the office, she said "Mommy, I want to go back to see Dr Dave!" Not only did Dr Treff answer all of my questions completely, he took the time to discuss future plans of care to ensure good dental and orthodontic care for my daughter. This is the fourth office we've been to, but this is the one we will continue to return to!

Dr.Treff and his staff are amazing! They made my family feel welcome. My daughter is under two and even though she was crying, Dr. Treff was very understanding and patient with her. Dr.Treff and staff are primarily focused on making it a positive dental experience for every child. The kids are instantly relaxed upon entering kid-friendly waiting area with plush bean bag chairs, large screen tvs, book and computer stations. Each step of process is explained in an informative and fun way. Their comfort level is continually assessed throughout appt creating a super easy visit. Glad we found such a dedicated pediatric dentist for our family!
