I went in for a routine eye exam for the first (and last) time with Dr. Simon Yeung and found him to be completely unprofessional during my visit. I brought up a condition that I have which can often be linked to diabetes (i.e. can be linked to issues with vision), but he said that was not within his scope of practice. Yet as the visit progressed, he proceeded to comment on my skin and give unsolicited advice, going so far as to google pictures for me to look at. I had to literally tell the man to sign my prescription as I walked out of the exam room because he would not stop talking about my skin. He did not even make an effort to go any of the results from the eye exam with me. I understand now why this place had so much open availability. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The ladies in the front desk were nice and are probably the only saving grace about this establishment.

This was my first time going to TSO. The doctor seemed to be in a rush. There were several patients and it looked like only one doctor available. My exam was rushed and my prescription was incorrect. I had to go to another optometrist to get my correct prescription.

Everything was perfect until I left my visit. I’ve always had 20/30 vision; which never changed over the years. My left eye was the problem, but now my right eye is completely blurred after that laser test. I did a walk in the day after just to be scheduled to come back for this issue. Patiently waiting!

I didn't like the fact the dr kept saying "if you can afford it" and "your eyes are really bad". When you have a lot of astigmatism, you know your eyes are bad and you know vision care is expensive. It left a terrible taste in my mouth. We only stayed because they are one of the few places the insurance covers.

Great service. Got an appointment the same day for my daughter after finding out her old eye dr didn’t take our insurance and her glasses broke. The dr was very informative and answered all my questions. The lady helped my daughter find the perfect glasses that fit her face and even went beyond and searched for a clear frame she wanted. I was very impressed with this office and will be coming back in the future.

the staff was very friendly and very helpful from my first point of contact all the way to helping me choose my glasses and leaving. i love dr simon yeung, he helped make me feel comfortable and i can tell he truly cared about my eye health and the importance of it. i definitely recommend texas state optical. they are awesome.

Friendly staff, doctors took their time to answer all of my questions and were very thorough. The only thing I didn’t like was being directed to look at the most expensive frames first. Other than that everything was great.

The doctor that helped me was great and patient with me. He was good at explaining his process and letting me know of any concerns. I was going to a different doctor but couldn't after changing insurances and was skeptical to go anywhere else since he was the one who found the problems in my eyes. However, the doctor at Texas State Optical made me feel very comfortable. They also have a lot of stylish frames at a lower cost than I expected. I was really nervous to go to the appointment because I've been quarantined for months and I really cannot get sick due to being high risk. The techs made sure to wipe down all of the equipment and keep their distance. I had the male technician help me pick out the best glasses for my face and told him he was doing my boyfriends job since he couldn't come in with me, lol. He did a wonderful job and was honest, which I appreciated. :)

The doctor was helpful but very rude. The contacts that were given to me were the wrong contacts. I could not see out of them . When I went back for another contact exam, I wasn’t advised I was supposed to bring my contacts. They hurt my eyes so I was not wearing them. The doctor told me he would allow me 20 minutes to go get my contacts since I live close but while I was on my way to the exit. He told me in front of the whole store ,” What do you want me to do? I hope you’re smarter than that.”in reference to hun being unable to work without my contacts. I honestly thought that was a horrible customer experience. I don’t see myself going here again.

Despite the necessary covid precautions, the office still feels very friendly. The wait time was short, and the testing went smoothly and quickly. Dr. Yeung explained every step clearly and thoroughly. And the new eye dilation drops are fantastic! My eyes never did feel dilated, and my vision didn't distort nor was it painful to be in the light. Those were fabulous! And the help with the new frames and financing was a blessing.

This was my first time taking my kids to this eye doctor. I looked at reviews for other doctors and the reviews for this facility were awesome. So glad I chose TSO for my kids because the service was great! My kids felt so comfortable and so did I. The lady who helped us find the best glasses was so nice and friendly, I really hate I can't remember her name but she stated she was in her 40's. I will continue taking my children to this eye doctor.

I recently went into TSO as a walk-in and I was happy that they could fit me in. I did have a wait but they kept me informed and acknowledged me. The Dr was very nice and he listened to my concerns. Dalia was super sweet and very helpful (and honest). She helped me pick the frames and she didn't rush me and she was very thorough in making sure I got what I wanted while making sure it was also the best for me. I definitely will go again but I know next time to make an appointment.

The only concern that I had was a personal one and not at all related to the wonderful service I was given. I will say that I was disappointed with the frame selection that I had to choose from. I found a satisfactory frame, but would like to have had an improved choice for more stylish look.

I ordered glasses to be ready before the weekend as I am travelling overseas. My 1st phone call to check on the availability Thursday resulted in talking to Nancy who said it would be 7-10 days before they would arrive. I asked her to be sure and she said yes. I asked for my technician who sold me the glasses, she said no, she put a rush on the order and should be ready Friday. Friday has come gone/no phone call. Saturday morning finds me wondering if the glasses are in and if anyone will call to let me know. Oh well, guess I leave the country without new glases for a month

I enjoyed my visit with the doctor the only problem the girls in the front were not very friendly looked that they didnt want to be there. I did like the service the lady who helped with trying on the glasses she was very nice and explained everything i needed to know.
