I love and appreciate Dr. Tharp and his staff and nurses. Everyone is always so nice to me and understanding about any issues. Dr. Tharp has always given me the best care; he truly listens and cares and knows what he is doing. Even when Dr. Tharp is behind, I never mind, I know he is doing his job and doing it well. I will always return to this office.

It feels like I am actually being seen. Since moving to this area and this doctor, I feel like he generally cares about my eye health. The people here are so kind. There is a nurse, we remember each other and she is so sweet. I was nervous coming back after missing treatments but my doctor was so kind and understanding.

Was at my appointment for almost an hour and a half. The eye tech that brought me back was very nice but talked quite a bit which caused my appointment to drag on. She even said he was running on time but she just had a lot to say, & I’m sure the doctor doesn’t come in until she is done with her part of the exam. My eye doctor came in probably within 10 min of her leaving the room and he was good and efficient as always. Hate to even complain because she was so nice but she was definitely a talker.

The person checking me in was very personable. I was evaluated by "nurse" Stanley--this is the third year in a row that she has helped me. She has always been quite professional and pleasant. Dr. Green is terrific, and I would not go to any other optometrist.

My eyes were dilated and I was told it was safe to drive. I could barely see and ask again, and was told that my far vision was fine. Only my close vision was impaired. I got into my car had difficulty pulling away. A few blocks later, I realized it was so very unsafe to drive. I couldn’t even tell what lane I was in. I was left stranded and trying to find someone to come pick me up. I didn’t regain my vision until the next day. If I would’ve had a wreck, it would’ve been the fault of the staff and doctors at the vision Care Center,.

I went to the VISION CARE CENTER in DOWNTOWN EVANSVILLE - even though I live closer to the GATEWAY office - because I could get in sooner. WHAT A GREAT APPOINTMENT!!! I met with my doctor who is INCREDIBLE - Dr. Morgan Betz! - and her staff are so very PROFESSIONAL, PERSONABLE, and CARING! Then, I got to meet JACKIE, who works with DR. WEYER who ALSO ABSOLUTELY TREATED ME LIKE FAMILY! Once I met DR. WEYER, I KNEW my eyes were going to be in THE BEST POSSIBLE HANDS in EVANSVILLE! As always, competent, friendly staff and doctors. I was 30 minutes early expecting to sit and wait until my appointment time. I sat in the waiting area for about 5 minutes and was escorted to an exam room. A tech took me through preliminary procedures and then Dr. Baker came in and completed my annual exam. I was given several chances to express any concerns I had for my vision and to ask any questions I had about my vision health. When I left, I was completely satisfied with the level of care and confident that the next 12 months would be great.

I arrived early and was browsing in the optical department when Misty offered to help me. She set aside a pair of glasses I was interested in for after my appointment. I was called in for my appointment on time. Lana was easy to chat with and recorded my concerns to be shared with Dr. Weyer. Dr. Weyer was also easy to chat with. His expertise in the examination put me at ease regarding my concern over a scratched cornea. He answered all my questions with thorough explanations.

Dr Baker Allison and Erin were all great. The only thing that I would suggest is to have a mechanism to identify if there is a patient in a room, or tests are being conducted in a room. We interrupted on tests and waited in the hall until test was completed. Then later went to another room and a patient someone placed a patient in the room just "waiting / holding" until they were ready to be seen. The patient had to step outside until patient was tested. Space may be limited but to expedite resources you may reconsider if you want to use test rooms as a holding area. After my test I was told I'd be seen in one year (this visit did not include a visual exam with eye chart). I came in for possible retina tear. If it was coded as annual exam, I would have preferred to have full exam.

My recent visit to the Vision Care Center in downtown Evansville was very pleasant. I was greeted promptly and registered quickly. I did not have to wait long to be called back for my preliminary examination. Once all of the questions were answered and a few tests run, Dr. Morgan Betz came in and completed my examination with a thorough check of my eyes. It was an excellent visit. I have always felt that the doctors and staffs at the Vision Care Centers both at Gateway and Downtown do an excellent job. They can always be counted on to see you in a timely fashion and to conduct a thorough eye examination.

The drs and staff are wonderful and their expertise and professionalism a breath of fresh air! I had resolved within myself acceptance that I would never again enjoy clear vision, but I was so wrong! They examined my eyes and managed to provide contacts that actually fit comfortably and provided vision better than I have experienced in a very long time. Dr Jon Weyer IS the reason to go to the Vision Center. He is brilliant and has treated my unique situation with urgency, as one would hope to receive from the first receipt of referral, during each visit, accepting of additional phone calls even when he was out of state at training conference and with each appointment I continue to attend for follow up. I highly recommend him to anyone facing a vision issue that may be complex, as he has clearly saved a large portion of my right eye’s center vision. The front desk reception staff is not professional and I would appreciate if Dr Weyer would rid his office of those that do not represent his professionalism. There is one that is blatantly rude and should be gone. Another canceled one of my appointments for no reason and when I arrived, since no one told me after I took off work and drive 1 1/2 hours there was not an apology. They looked at me as though I lied and had lost my mind. This was unprofessional and should have been considered a fireable offense, as I believe that the worker wanted a friend or family member to have the appointment, so they just gave that person my appointment! However, I was not reimbursed and had to take another day off and travel over a hundred miles AGAIN. This should NOT happen. The last time I arrived after three specialist appointments that morning and I believed I was 3 minutes behind. The rude receptionist said “I was beginning to think you were NEVER going to show!” I was shocked and stated the time I believed my appointment time was set and she barked at me the appointment was for “1:05 pm”. I apologized and said I thought it was for 1:15 pm. I believed that was a reasonable misunderstanding, considering in my 49 years and having 9 specialists, I have never had a doctor appointment start at the 5 after time period! She just said, “ I will see if he will still see you.” I was 13 minutes behind! Yikes. Dr Weyer does run really pretty good on time, but he is a friendly human

Dr Jon Weyer is amazing. He has saved much of my eyesight. He is calm and spends adequate time explaining all of my diagnosis. He has never been pushy or attempted to make me have things done that I was not comfortable doing. The nurses and techs are super. My only complaint is that his front office staff are not welcoming and one even canceled an appointment of mine without my knowledge, which caused me to have to take another day off work. I would recommend some customer service training for the front office staff. Otherwise, Dr Jon is well worth going and I trust him with my sight, literally!

I am not sure why my eyes were dilated before the exam took place. The nurse dilated them before the doctor came in. When the doctor proceeded to do my vision test, I couldn’t hardly see anything. Everything was blurry and the light was hurting my eyes. I’ve received many eye exams but the dilation was always done after the vision part of the exam was over. I just feel my exam didn’t realistically reflect my vision.

I have been going to the vision care center for almost 5 years now. I've never had a bad experience with them. Front desk staff is always friendly and I'm able to get checked in quickly. I've never had a long wait between check in and being brought back to a room. Dr. Loehr is so kind and helpful. I started wearing contacts and the woman that taught me how to wear and take care of them was very helpful and nice. The ladies at the optical shop are helpful and patient. I can't recommend this facility enough

Friendly staff, caring, and honest doctor. He clearly expressed the need to make a change with a newer brand of contacts. I've worn the same brand for 17 years. However have been experiencing dry eyes. I gave the samples a chance. They felt better on my eyes. Went forward with ordering the new brand. The nurse was also friendly and understanding.

We had to wait over an hour to be seen and we were not informed of this when we were checking in. I have 2 year old and 4 month old, and the appointment was for my 4 month old. It is really difficult to keep 2 kids happy for that long. We were there for 2 hours. Whoever is doing scheduling needs to stop double booking patients. While we were waiting, I heard several of the people working there about how they were upset with the amount of patients and trying to figure out how they were going to take their lunches. Its not fair for the patient's it workers to have to deal with that.

I had a new OD on this visit and I have to say Dr. Green is Awesome. This was the best and most thorough exam I have ever had. Dr. Green took the time to explain some of the issues of my eyes and just was an awesome visit. I have already recommended him to my co-workers and family. His nurse was awesome as well. Kudos to Deaconess for hiring him.

The staff is very professional and friendly. The offices are clean and up-to-date. I can get an appointment quickly and rarely have to wait past my appointment time. I really like Dr. Green. I trust his opinion and appreciate his conservative approach. My vision insurance does not cover this group in-network for some unknown reason - they are a Deaconess provider and I've been going here for years - but I still go here even though I have to pay out of pocket for my exams.

I really love Dr. Loehr! He is a great Dr. and have seen him for many many years. The nurses have always been so helpful and nice. However, the receptionists need improvement on their knowledge, and attitude. They can be not so friendly and hateful. They tried telling me that I have not been to see Dr Loehr in 3 years. I explained that was wrong and she argued with me to the point I left and had to call the nurse. The nurse called me back and took care of the matter. This is not the first time I have had issues with the front receptionists. This needs improvement.

Lana in the optical shop was so helpful and went above and beyond! Being a 24/7 glasses wearer, it is important I purchase a frame that will be comfortable and give me the most optimal vision with my prescription needs. She helped me pick out appropriate frames and even stayed late so I didn’t feel rushed since my apportionment was one of the last in the afternoon.

The vision care center always takes great care of me! The receptionists are polite, friendly, and helpful. I only waited about 5 minutes for my appointment once I arrived. This was my first time seeing Mr. Green and he was awesome. He was able to explain my situation clearly and answer any questions I had. Not to mention, we had good conversation. Overall it was a great experience. Will definitely keep coming back for my vision needs!

This was my first eye exam ever and was referred by my family doctor because of headaches. I didn’t have to wait long and the ladies at the front desk were nice. The lady that performed the several eye exams at the beginning of my appointment was very friendly and informative, i was very pleased how that went. When the doctor came in I felt like I was putting him out to be honestly. The tests he performed were no issue and he said he was going to dilate my eyes which I had no idea what that meant nor was there any explanation. I didn’t realize that the drops he put in my eyes were going to cause the dilation. I waited in the room for 20-25 minutes waiting for him to return and received a call and realized i cannot read anything. When he came back in he checked my eyes and i told him i could not focus and he said it could last 3-4 hours. He said nothing he saw could cause my headaches and sent me on my way. When i got home my wife was really surprised to hear my eyes were dilated and I didn’t have a driver or asked if i had a driver. To say the least I am glad my eyes are good and will not be returning to this doctor. Maybe this is normal practice but don’t feel like it should be.

My husband & I have appointments on the same day and 30 minutes apart and this is very important to us to not have to make 2 separate trips from our home. Parking was a bit of a problem and the rain was a nuisance . Hopefully, the construction nearby will soon be over. Dr. Jon was personable and took the time to explain a new condition in one of my eyes that, after several options to correct this problem, he will do Laser treatment. He explained this treatment and I have high hopes it will correct the problem. I'm not sure what the charges of $33.00 to each of us covers. Our Receipts did not give an explanation and I would like a clearer one than what the receptionist gave me.

I have been visiting The Vision Care Center for several years and have usually found the experience positive. Last year, I was given incorrect information on my benefits from the shop team, which resulted in me missing out on a significant benefit. When I explained wth the team this year, they were patient and happily contacted the insurance company to understand my benefits. Unfortunately, there is no way to get back what I lost last year but I was pleased with the team this year and their first effort to make things right.

Overall I had a good experience at the Vision Center, but felt there could have been a little better explanation on post op directions, or maybe I just didn't ask enough questions.. I found a little discrepancy in the directions given at the pre-op and those given at the surgery center which caused confusion with the eye drops for my first surgery. It is probably not feasible, but because I was there several times from my first consultation through the completion and follow up for two cataract surgeries, it would have been helpful to have the same nurse assistant each time who by then gets to know the patient pretty well.

The only thing that I would like to mention is that my eyes were dialated and I was not given the reversal drops and that makes it difficult because I was alone and had to drive myself. I forgot to mention this after my appointment because this was the second time this has happened. If I had remembered I would have asked for it. Dr. Eric always puts them in himself before I leave his appointments.

I took my 6 year old son in about a problem I am very concerned about. I don't feel like I was explained in any detail about his situation. We were referred else where but we still have to wait another month before being seen. I was hoping for a little more peace of mind than, "don't lose sleep over it."
