AUGUST IS CHILDREN'S:

EYE HEALTH AND SAFETY MONTH

WHAT PARENTS - NEED TO KNOW ABOUT CHILDREN'S VISION:

We are already aware that kids grow and learn new things every day and that includes learning how to use their eyes.

Because children don't know how to verbalize what they are experiencing, they never complain, but show their symptoms through behaviors instead.

This is the reason why it is important for parents to know the signs indicating vision problems that often get mislabeled as "acting out", "ADD" or "dyslexia" as these will directly impact your child's learning success!

Here are a few signs that may indicate a child is experiencing a vision problem and should have an eye exam:

  • Frequent eye rubbing
  • Constant blinking
  • Covering an eye or slouching while reading
  • Tilting the head to one side
  • Losing their place when reading
  • Avoiding reading
  • Difficulty with attention
  • Difficulty with reading
  • Struggles with homework

This is a requirement for all kindergartners OR anyone entering a new school.
