It's a bit awkward when you're sitting in the exam room chair, with your back to the door, and a provider starts talking to you before greeting you. The exam area is buzzing with chatter so it's hard to tell when someone is talking to you. It would be helpful, and it would feel more welcoming, if the providers greeted the patient by name, before starting the procedure.

In my 42 years of living, this is the best dentist I ever had!!! Upon receiving a flyer (discount) in the mail, I decided to schedule for teeth bleaching. It turns out I needed a fill. During the process, he also suggested a mouth guard because I'm a grinder by night. Since I have one, he told me to bring it in for cleaning for free. I never knew this! No dentist ever asked to clean my mouth guard. At Dr. Latner's, they provide the best customer service and don't treat you like cattle or a statistic. He and his team are immaculately clean, passionate, and professional about their work. You will see and hear this while you are there. Don't be afraid to ask questions because he will thoroughly explain everything to you and its purpose. If you are one that fears a dentist because they might hurt you, you won't have this fear. This place treats like you're their cub and are gentle! If you are concerned about pricing, they are reasonable and also, provide financing. I immensely thank and love Dr. Latner and his team!!! I'm looking forward to my next visit!

The hygienist, Yara, was very knowledgeable and thorough without inflicting pain. She told me what she was doing and gave clear directions on what I should do at home. She was pleasant and attentive the whole time. I was favorably impressed with the modern equipments and the functions they could perform. One device was used to determine what molars I ground most. How did that work? The dentist came in and examined me at the end. He included a soft tissue exam which was a new and, I believe, welcome and useful exam. Dr. Latner was attentive and ready to answer any questions I had.

Dr. Latner is a true professional. His work is Excellent and he has all the latest equipment. His business Manager, Alba, will bill our insurance if you have Dental insurance and will let you know the cost of your necessary dental work..Dr. Latner has quite the soft hands, and I really do not feel any pain- only the little pinch when I have a Novocain shot. My wife had a full mouth restoration done by Dr. Latner. She gets so many compliments on her teeth- even one time when we were on vacation, and the Gentleman said his business was the making of crowns...........I have referred almost 20 people to him and every single person was Happy with the entire office.

Not as good as previous reviews. In Valerie's absence, Jackie was my hygienist. She is very personable and competent. However, close to the end of the appointment she told me there wasn't time to complete the work, and another appointment was needed to do the upper teeth. I made an appointment. When leaving, and paying for the work, I was charged $266.00. This is the highest cost ever for this work. I was told that I wasn't being charged for Dr. Latner's examination. The next day I called Alba to ask for a breakdown of these charges. She told me that she had given instructions not to charge for the exam, but it was done anyway. I now have a $65.00 credit on the account. These two items make me unhappy with this session.

Overall great experience from the convenience of making an appointment to staff telling me what further care is needed/recommended. I found out after the fact that this office doesn't take my insurance--a mistake on my part. If it wasn't for that, I would definitely be going back. Me teeth look and feel fantastic! I had a very welcoming and informative visit to the office. The office reached out to me via text and phone call multiple times to check in regarding my appointment and to make sure all paperwork was completed before the visit. While I was at the office I learned one of the reasons why it was so difficult for me to receive x-rays (something none of my previous dentists ever told me about). The cleaning was very thorough and they were even available to fit in an exam. It was a pleasure to meet Dr. Latner, he was easy to talk to and answered all of my questions thoroughly. I was even able to book my next appointment well in advance. 10/10

Dr. Latner is a phenomenal dentist. He’s responsive, thorough, kind and always follows up with his patients personally. We made an emergency appointment for my daughters massive infected tooth and he was able to see us next day. He took x-rays and carefully showed us the problem and how he was going to fix it. He also took my son who had a baby tooth blocking an incoming adult tooth and remove the obstruction quickly and painlessly. He then called at 6 PM that night personally to make sure everything was OK. I don’t know any doctors that are this Thurow anymore… Thank you Dr. Latner!

I had a mostly positive visit at Dr. Latner's. The experience with the office staff, hygenists, and doctor were all great. My only compaint was that significant amount of wait time between my cleaning and x-rays. I waited for 40 minutes and had to check in with the staff before someone went to confirm that I would be able to get x-rays soon. My appointment was booked for 2 hours (which already seemed long) and I ended up spending 2.5 hours in the office for a cleaning, x-rays, and a consult.

There are several things that I liked, but 2 BIG negatives. VERY expensive and staff treatment at last visit was appalling. (1) Even after dental insurance covered cost of exam and routine exam, x-rays and cleaning, my out-of-pocket costs were almost $500! Maybe, my teeth were in much worse shape than ever before (1 1/2 years since my last cleaning), but the "deep cleaning" (at a cost of $481) took 3 appointments AFTER the "routine" cleaning, when my old dentist/hygienist would everything in 2 visits at most. Staff and front office was friendly and courteous -- generally excellent -- at my first 3 visits, although the staff (office manager?) was far from clear as to why the costs were so high; I was literally too stunned to ask for/demand further clarification, which has NEVER happened to me before. (2) I took my grandson in today, and service was AWFUL When we got there, we were told that Dr. Latner would be told we were there, and assumed he would be seen within a reasonable time after his scheduled appointment; there was not even a hint that Dr. was running behind. After 20 minutes, we were told he would be seen "soon"; after 45 minutes I asked and was told for the first time that there had been an emergency (and THAT is why Dr. was running WAY behind, which I could and should have been told when we first got there), but that he was "almost done"; grandson finally was seen a full hour after the scheduled time, and both the Office Manager and Dr. took no accountability -- offered only lame excuses and no showing genuine remorse or commitment to do better in the future.

Procedures and plans of care are explained well; billing and statements owed are handled in a timely manner with explanation as needed as well. I came to Dr Latner for a second opinion about the Pinhole surgery for gum recession. My currently dentist had told me that my gums are receding to the point that I needed surgery to fix them. I was surprised to hear this, since my previous dentist had never mentioned that gum recession was a problem for me. Dr Latner provided me with a free consultation and confirmed my suspicion that my gums were fine and I do not need surgery. I truly appreciate finding an honest dentist in this town and plan to come back to see Dr Latner for my regular cleanings from now on!

Dr. Latner is an excellent dentist! He completes a very thorough exam and maintains a very comfortable, modern office with top of the line and high tech equipment. The office staff is also very friendly and competent. The quality of your teeth cleaning, however, depends on the hygienist you get when you show up for your appointment. Not all hygienists seem to have the same skill level and experience. My biggest complaint is with the building. The common area bathrooms are gross and never stocked properly. Parking is easy and convenient and that is a huge plus in West LA.

The staff are friendly. They have super good appointment reminding system. I begin to receive reminder by text since two weeks ahead of time, till on the same day. When other dentist told me to have my 11-year old daughter to straighten her teeth, Dr. Latner told us to wait a little longer since her teeth are still coming out. When I asked thsecratary if it would much longer she gave me a very non committed response. To which I told her I was not willing to wait much longer. It was my first time at this Dentist and I get pretty nervous going to the Dentist. It was the most theral exam I have ever experienced. Very friendly staff. Dentist gives you a detailed description of what he is looking for while examining. I just have to say the facility is very clean and great environment for the children.
