I am so glad you have emergency options. I knew my cat was suffering from a sudden onset of a urinary infection and he was able to get relief right away rather than wait until the next day. I could see a difference in him the next morning. Great job Dr. Stemley!

We never had to wait so long to drop off or pick up for a surgical or dental procedure. On this visit, we had a long wait for both (dropping off over 45 minutes, picking up 30 minutes). It seemed even more odd because there weren't a ton people waiting either time. We love RGAH and have been loyal RGAH patients for well over a decade. Your recent changes have been met with great excitement, but it seems there is still a bit of ironing out to do when it came to our last visit.

had to wait 25 minutes to check out. There was no one ahead of us. As there were several people standing around, perhaps more people could be trained in the checkout procedure. Once it was started, it went very quickly and efficiently!

I use Rocky Gorge for all the routine things one must do when they own a pet. But where they really shine is when you have a pet in distress and you're out of your mind with concern. For example a C-section or as in my latest visit the sad but necessary neutering of my #1 stud dog Seamus who presented with an enlarged testicle. I took him to see Dr. Morris & even though it wasn't what I wanted to hear I always trust her to do whatever is in the pet's best interest. You really can't get better care.

Even though my senior dog Seamus who is my foundation stud & has fathered many Champion Norwich puppies had to be neutered, I feel that he got exceptional care from Dr. Sallie Morris and her surgical tech Amber. I trust their advice and appreciate their candor. I wish that I could find a primary care doctor that could do the same for me!

First, we were a walk in yesterday. I made a 2:40 appointment, but we came in early as the receptionist practically insisted with the symptoms I described we needed to bring our cat earlier. We arrived by 10:15 as a walk in due to that insistence. We left at 1:30. We sat and waited for nearly 3 hours and in the end only really got seen an hour earlier than if we just kept the appointment. If you really cannot fit in walk ins, don't encourage them to come. It was a complete waste of my time, at a time where I was very busy at the office. This literally prevented me from finishing work that was worth $8000-10000 to me if done yesterday because it took so long. We are honestly not sure if we are coming back again after this experience.

I came in with a very sick feral that needed to be euthanized. The cat had never been there and I fully expected to pay for the euthanasia. The cat and I were treated with the utmost respect and I was not charged at all. I'd like to thank RGAH and the personnel who assisted my cat & I.

I always have a great experience when I visit Rocky Gorge. I called because my dog was having a rather dramatic looking (but thankfully not exceedingly dangerous) sudden eye issue. I called and was told I could come in immediately. Upon arriving my dog was immediately greeted by name (even though we only come maybe twice a year) and we were checked in and in the room within five minutes despite arriving after hours. The vet and vet techs were all extremely nice and patient with my frightened dog. They spent a long time explaining to me exactly what tests they were doing, why they were necessary and how much they expected them to cost. While it is never a good experience to have to have an emergency visit, and the costs are unfortunately high, I was very very happy with my visit and left with the confidence that my dog had been thoroughly checked out and well taken care of.

Maxx had alittle cut on his leg! Grooming and know one that checked me out said anything about it I noticed it when I got on the car. When I picked him up someone should have mentioned it . This is the part I don't understand about the service why wasn't I informed of the accident if it was to get infected I would have to pay office visit and for medication'. I have been a customer here to long and spent thousand of dollars here for my pets for things like this to go on. I like Rocky gorge but the service is not going well for me

Dr. Wolchinskky and Dr. Farnan are wonderful. The Pharmacy personnel are wonderful. I highly recommend Rocky Gorge. I would have given a 5 star rating, but the front desk did not correctly register that I had arrived so it was a long wait to pick up my pet.

The vet told me that someone would be in to discusse payment options with me. I believe said there was 3 options. No one ever came to talk to me about it. When I asked at the front desk I was told I could apply for a credit card. The staff was sweet and caring. When I was making final arrangements. I was told of 3 possible euthanasia options but never there cost. I was terrified I would not have enough money to even end Oliver's suffering

Check out was too long. The staff member was unorganized and unprepared. When I dropped Holly off at 8am for her procedure I asked to have her cat food purchase ready to pick up the same time I pick Holly up. It was not ready and the staff member kept forgetting to get it. Finally when I got the hypoallergenic food and paid the bill, the staff member forgot to get my cat. She went back to get Holly and had to come back for the carrier. Staff training is much needed. It took me about 25 minutes to check out. I was very frustrated by the time I left. With that said, I have usually had a very good experience at Rocky Gorge and this incident is just that, an incident and irritating experience. However, please instruct your staff members to concentrate on planning, giving great customer service and less time chatting with other staff members when helping a customer. This staff member was too busy being friendly with other staffers to care about getting me out in a timely manner.

This was an emergency and traumatic in that it involved the euthanasia of our cat Luana. Everyone was very attentive, knowledgeable, and kind. Dr. Bricker was the night doctor who objectively presented the situation and our choices. The other doctors and staff the next day were very good. I know Dr. Weiler was involved though we did not talk to her. Dr. Pasekoff helped us the following day with our final visit. I appreciate her objectivity and frankness as well. Thank you all.

I am very pleased with the services and treatment my dogs receive at Rocky Gorge. I have been to other vets with my two yorkies, and my schnauzers in the past. Rocky Gorge is more professional and efficient than some human medical offices that I have been to. Rocky Gorge is definitely a cut above the rest! The only issue that I have is that it is very hard to get through on the phone without having a fairly long wait. Someone always answers on the first few rings but I can't remember a time when I wasn't put on hold for several minutes. In comparison to the great service, this is a minor issue.

I find it very important to know where the shots were given so that I can remember to be gentle in that area. I also had to call back to Rocky Gorge at approximately 5 pm due to Duke having severe chills. I spoke to Kevin when I called.

I arrived at 8:15 for an 8:25am appt. Thought I could just drop my pet off for his dental cleaning but had to wait for the intake which took longer than my schedule allowed. I missed another appt I had. I do believe I was told it would take 30 mins but it just didn't register til I got there and had to wait. Unsure why it takes so long and why there is a wait. It would be great if this can be done in advance so when we check in we can let them know when the pet last ate and then drop off. Questions they asked certainly could have been done online or over the phone. Not your fault but it threw my whole day off.

When I came to pick Sammy up after his teeth cleaning surgery I was told there were two in front of me so it would be a brief wait. One hour later I was taken back to pay my bill and get Sammy to take home. I tried to call before coming and held for 15 min. with no human contact. Perhaps you should assign a pick-up time. I left work early in hopes of having Sammy released and home as early as possible. We have been coming to Rocky Gorge since the first Dr. Morley was there (I was a little girl at the time) and love and recommend it to others. Just a suggestion for improved customer service. Thanks.

Well, Schroeder got caught up in the snow storm, well, his surgery did. Schroeder was safe from the storm at RG. But he stayed there and was neutered by Dr. Bricker at night so all is well. He seems fine. RG always does it's best to accommodate customers even in the event of a snow storm. ;o)

He's been so comfortable, playful, and you would never know he was post-op. I also feel your prices were extremely reasonable. Your facilities are also clean and nice. I love the checkout system! Of all the animal hospitals I have visited, RGAH is the best. The staff genuinely cares about my pet and it seems like they have your financial situation in mind. They don't nickel and dime you like other hospitals do or overcharge you for unnecessary services. However, the only disappointment was that I had to wait 2.5 hours past my appointment time so considering you're getting off work, had to rush to make dinner so you make it to your appointment on time, don't get to eat dinner as a result, wait forever for your appointment, and by the time you're done with your appointment and get home, it's time to go to sleep so you can go back to work the next day. Not only that, but my pet has a set Rx and dinner time and the wait time made my pet miss her medication and feeding time. It was nice of the staff the give my puppy food without adding it to my bill but time is very valuable. Nobody likes their time being wasted. Overall, I love RGAH, but they need to work on time management.

Fortunately, my dog is rarely sick, but he started limping in one paw. It took a bit to schedule a checkup because they had to knock him out. Like me, he has arthritis. I had to dig a bit, and ask to speak to the doctor/see the X-rays before I left with my dog. It is still a very good place to bring a pet, and very easy to pay and obtain meds.

This was the few places I was able to get in contact with over the weekend to assist with our issue(s) when we took in a stray kitty from the neighborhood, who had been outside alone. The staff over the phone was very helpful, as was the staff when we arrived all the way through the actual exam. We had a great experience and have since returned with our other pet. We were equally pleased with that experience, perhaps even more so. I hope the good relationship continues. Thank you, Rocky Gorge!

Although I recognize sometimes running late in unavoidable, and I appreciate the doctor taking the necessary time to deal with all of her pet-patients and answer all human-companion questions, there should be a text or phone call sent out to patients when the doctor is running more than 15 minutes late. We only live 5 minutes away, and running out the door after a long and busy day to make it to our appointments on time to be greeted with "the doctor is running 30 minutes late" is frustrating. Just as a patient is expected to call if running significantly late, I believe a doctor's office can also relay that information.

The only thing that I would warn people about is the long waits, which I experienced two of the four times I was there with my pet. I talked at length to a couple of ladies in the waiting room, and they said that the long wait is typical.

You took care of our previous dog, Rudy (also a Havanese) and Doctor Morris saved his live no less then 4 times (two surgeries to remove a cancerous lump behind his right ear and two surgeries, one to remove a stone from his bladder and 1 to remove a stone from his urethra. Dr. Morris also neutered Rudy and Oliver. We are Rocky Gorge boosters.

There were two other pet owners already there before me, and waiting. I can understand that the receptionist was there alone and perhaps felt annoyed at pet owners for arriving early. But front doors were unlocked and I needed to get to work as soon as I could. Later, the same receptionist was very kind to me and my dog.

How can I insure that test results are properly reviewed? Blood tests, fecal results, all get lost and never read. I dropped off a fecal sample on Monday and Tuesday night when I dropped the dog off for surgery on Wednesday, the results were there- positive for worms. Despite reminding the person when I was called after the surgery, there was nothing written for the worms when I picked the dog up. My understanding is that if the fecal results are negative, no call is made. But how do I know the results were not lost (or just never seen), which happens quite a bit? A dog could go for quite a long time with worms and the owner would think the result was negative when it was in fact, lost. The same thing happens for blood tests. Rarely does someone call me about the blood tests so I never know if anyone even looked at them. My checkout would have been relatively fast but the worm medicine had to be filled before I could leave. Had I not asked for the results, I'm not sure I would have b

Really appreciate the sedated groom service which is a must for our dog who is severely, dangerously anxious even though he's on Reconcile. And very much appreciate that Dale accommodates our request to administer his Frontline while he's under. And also appreciate that on this visit, when shots were due, they were administered while he was under. But we were not told that there would be a well-visit exam and charge on this visit. We scheduled a grooming and shots and when my husband was checking out afterward he was given a bill for the exam that was not mentioned beforehand. Don't think we would have objected to the exam, but did not feel good about someone proceeding and charging us for services that were not even discussed, much less requested and approved.

I've been bringing my dog to RGAH for 11 years and this was the first time I've been dissastisfied with the service and care that was received. Dr. Bricker was cold and told me that I stated that my dog had certain symptoms (nausea and coughing) when I did not. Then, an hour later, he apologizes stating that to him he looked like he could be nauseous when initially he stated that my dog appeared to be happy and symptom free except for the loose stool. Also, he tells me that my dog has a heart murmur and less than a week earlier my dog was seen by Dr. Pasekoff (whom I trust completely) and she made no mention of any heart murmur. Lastly, he prescribed anti-nausea and pain medication when my dog did no show any signs of nausea or being in pain...so, that was money wasted because he didn't need it! I moved from the Laurel over 7 years ago and it is not convenient for me to get there. But I continued to bring Murphy to RGAH because of the care he received. I will consider changing.

Also, when I dropped my cat for surgery I heard different stories as far as if it was going to stay overnight or dismissed the day of the surgery. Is it possible to do a self check in for drop offs? I know at the orthodontist, the kids check in themselves on a computer in the lobby. Most of the paperwork could be done by the customer if they wanted to do that. Like an express check in. Older people who do not use computers might not be able to do it. Surely there's a software program out there that is simple and takes someone step by step through the process? Just a suggestion. I know everyone seems to come at once.

But when I arrived at the hospital to pick her up(from spay surgery) - I was told there was 1 discharge ahead of hers. 30 min later when I asked how much longer, I was told that they were finishing up with a discharge, but that there was 1 more ahead of me. So, the wait was pretty long, and after dropping her off at 7:30am, it just seemed like an exorbitant amount of time. Other than that- staff has always been very nice and professional. I constantly tell people about your office and how pleased I am with the services. So thank you.

After I rejected an overnite stay at the cost of over 700.00 we were kept waiting for 45 mins for nothing My dog left there in worse shape then when we brought him there all of that for 338.00 we were charged for meds we were afraid to give him and 5.00 a can dog food. Rocky Gorge used to be a good place to bring our pets but after the new wonderful building was built it is know as the over priced money grap vet. Please stop taking advantage of pet loving people who will do and spend any amount of money to save there lives.

When my dog was injured I rushed her right to them and they took excellent care of her. The staff are caring and understanding, and were available at all hours to answer my many questions. Quentin came in for surgery, which ended up being postponed, as Dr. Morris didn't feel the bone had healed enough to remove the pin based on the x-ray. I am happy to be cautious, but Quentin spent the whole day there because the x-ray wasn't taken and reviewed until 3pm. He hadn't had breakfast because of the anticipated surgery. In the future I would recommend assessing any dogs that may not be ready for surgery first thing in the morning so they can go home and / or be fed if it is determined they are not ready for their surgery. Besides being better for the animal it is more efficient for your practice, since you won't have to walk dogs that don't need to be there. That said, I have been happy with the care Quentin has received from everyone there.

Our family has always used Rocky Gorge for our vet care and couldn't be more satisfied. Last week we adopted an 8mo boxer/hound from a rural rescue. Even though he tries to be brave, he is timid around loud noises in new environments. The staff at Rocky Gorge were patient and kind and won his trust. When we dropped him for neutering, he didn't want to leave us, so the vet techs helped pick him gently up when he pulled on his collar. We were worried the first couple vet visits would be traumatic with everything new, but he was calm and comfortable when we picked him up.

We have been really happy with everyone at Rocky Gorge. We have several pets, two ferrets and a lab mix. We had met with several of the veterinarians and all seem to really enjoy what they do. They were knowledgeable, friendly and provided very knowledgeable and sound advice regarding each pets needs. The services that were provided were only what was deemed necessary and very cost effective. We were delighted at the flexible scheduling that was available. They even had later evening visits at a small additional fee as well as full service after hours emergency care. I will always refer them to anyone I know.

I was left in a room for over 60 minutes with no one even checking in with me to let me know what was going on. Someone came in shortly after we went into the room and I was told the doctor would be in "shortly" then nothing after that. When I came out to walk around and take my dog outside to go potty they said "you are still here?" Someone should have known I was still here and left in that room! My appointment was at 8:00 pm for a pre-surgical visit only. No vaccines were even needed. When I asked to just leave the dog (since she was having spay surgery the next day), I was told they had to get approval from the doctor. I have to get up at 4:30 AM and I couldn't leave there until 9:50 PM. Luckily they did the check out for the dog I was also picking up shortly after I arrived and they just left him in the back until after the vet visit. I was VERY unhappy last night. No one should be left in a room that long without even checking on them! Once I saw the dr, things went well.

Picked my pet up after he'd had surgery. I think surgery techs had gone for the evening (6:00 p.m) so I waited about 15 minutes before anyone began to work with me. However, Tavia and Dr. Morris took care of me when it was my turn ! I really appreciate the kindness and professionalism shown. Additionally, after midnight the night of the surgery, I called and spoke to a tech because my dog was in pain and would not elinmate. Unfortunately, I did not get the techs name, he was OUTSTANDING ! I was able to use the sling he described to get my Braxton out and help him keep the weight off of his leg so that he could urinate. The tech was very patient in explaining this to me and indicated that I could bring Braxton in if I needed his help. That is fantastic, I was so comfortable in carrying out the suggestion. I have been been bringing Braxton to Rocky Gorge for almost 9 years and continue to be very pleased with the service that I receive. Great job everyone.

I could never say enough about Dr. Wolchinsky. At a point when I thought I would lose Cupid, Dr. Wolchinsky guided me through crate therapy and medicine and my yorkie is still here! At that time it was over 8 hours from her arrival time and she had not had any food since the previous evening just before 10 pm. It's not a big deal. I was just concerned for my cat's well being.

I had Teddy in for a dental visit 7 months ago with Dr Ray( I think)He had dental xrays done at that time, the vet told me she could not interpret the xrays, but she thought something was wrong with 2 of his teeth and suggested I take him to a specialist, have him put to sleep and have more x-rays done to determine the problem. He seemed fine and I did not take him to the specialist( the high cost was prohibitive for me at the time.)He saw Dr Morris a couple weeks ago for Rabies vaccine and I told her of the previous dental visit, She checked his mouth and advised another dental exam, xrays, and possible extractions. He had 3 extractions this time. I am glad that his problem has finally been taken care of. But I do not know why Dr Ray could not determine the problem the first go around, and why Teddy had to get anesthesia 2 times within a 7 month time frame, not to mention the expense. I would appreciate a response to my concerns. Teddy is doing very well now. Thank you.

Got to the pet resort 5 minutes before appointment time. Pretty Girl was being sedated so had to go upstairs to sign papers. Girl behind the desk made me wait like I had an appointment to see the vet. After 25 minutes I told them I could not wait any longer as I had a doctors appointmentm myself - she didn't seem to care one way or the other. Finally another girl came out from the back and realizing the situation gave me the papers to sign and it was taken care of in about 2 minutes. I did not like the way the first lady, when talking on the telephone with another pet owner, would put the phone down and make fun of the pet owner on the other end of the line. Makes me wonder if she makes fun of me like that when I call.

Sommer came in for a dental and I was very nervous about it given that my other dog had passed away from pulmonary edema following her dental at another vet clinic. I told the tech this info and asked that all pertinent people be told so that NO opportunities for this type of situation could arise. When I received a phone call telling me that Sommer was finished, I mentioned this and the woman who called, despite acting like she had been involved in the procedure, had no knowledge of our situation. This made me feel like there was a lack of communication within the office/between the staff and did not make me feel well taken care of or heard.

Although there were 4 chances prior to the procedure, I was never notified not to feed my pet the night prior to his procedure. So when I brought him in and was notified he may not have his procedure done, needless to say I was frustrated and upset. As his procedure was for his breathing, I was not willing to delay it. I was thankful that they were able to put him at the end of the surgery list, but the stress and frustration it caused was not needed. Had I been told what was needed when I took him in initially, or scheduled the surgery, or received the invoice, or picked up the antibiotics, it would have been a non issue. I love Rocky Gorge and have no plans to leave, but I feel like I have to be much more proactive from now on, asking for information instead of being able to rely on the team telling me what I need to know before any procedure.

I know mice are small but if so many people do studies with them couldn't those people document photos / video of their surgeries / findings to share with vets? Online there seems to be a great deal more info coming from the UK re mouse & rat care. It seems like computers could be used to share more info. It might be helpful to have "phone triage questions and replies for in case whoever is up there needs them.

That is very important to me.

This was an ER visit. I thought the staff was very nice and tried hard to make sure I did not feel forgotten, in spite of the fact that they were VERY busy with some serious cases. However, today when I contacted my regular vet, his staff did not have the fax'd report. So I contacted RGAH and asked someone to make sure the report had been sent to my vet, and I was asked to provide the fax number. If I have provided the vet's name, I am not sure why I have to provide the fax number. I don't even have the fax number; I had to get it online. SURELY your staff has a directory they work from. To be fair, I have this same beef with my human doctors. Overall I was very happy with the treatment Shakira received.

Initially, we had a 7:20 pm appointment, to which we arrived early, however our pet was not seen until almost an hour later. When we brought Rusty in for his scheduled surgery, there was a minimal wait time, which was greatly appreciated. Overall, the service and hospitality shown by the staff at RG is fantastic!!

I have been bringing my pets to Rocky Gorge since 1987. I am impressed with the improvements in the amount of time I have to wait. I like being able to check out in the exam room. I just wish I didn't have to wait so long (more than 40 minutes) to pick up my cat after his surgery. Otherwise, I love the vets and I trust them to care for my pets.

The only thing I would change would be for a euthanasia, hold off a bit on the cremation details. Sometimes we want to confer with the Dr first to be absolutely sure the time is right and talking about the body over a living dog is uncomfortable. I have euthanized several dogs and this has never happened to me before. The Dr was excellent.

I am coming from a different vet after having just moved. I have pet insurance and a form that gets submitted with an invoice after each vet visit. At my last vet, they kept the form on hand and took care of the submission for me. When I asked about it at Rocky Gorge, they told me that I had to fax it in myself. I don't have a fax machine at home and when I told them that, I was told that Staples has fax machines. I would like to have the staff at the office to take care of the insurance submissions in case there is something else that the insurance needs. It's a lot easier to have insurance contact the vets office directly.

I had to wait over an hour to pick up my dog from surgery on Thursday. Once I finally was taken into the room, no one could explain the surgery or bloodwork that was performed, and it was even unclear whether or not my dog had sutures that needed to be removed. No one called me during the day in regards to my dog or her condition or to let me know that the surgery was more extensive than previously thought. I had to specifically ask for the vet to call me the next day so that I could get some information. Dr Farnam was apologetic but as a new client I wax disappointed with the surgery pick up wait time and lack of communication about her condition.

I was a bit worried about my Cocker's teeth cleaning, since I hadn't taken him in YEARS. The Drs at Rocky Gorge were FANTASTIC! They took excellent care of my love-bug, treated him w/ TLC, and best of all, they cleaned his teeth so well that his mouth looks (and smells!) like a brand new doggie! Bailey was not traumatized at all. Rocky Gorge, is, by far, the BEST veterinary clinic I have EVER been to (and I've lived in MD, CA, AZ and TX!). I will ALWAYS go to them for all of my pets' health needs.

We have been coming to RGAH for 5 yrs and I would make sure we did not see her again.

Also, Dr. Rine said that even though Tawny's fecal exam came back negative, she was prescribing a "general" dewormer. Could you please explain the reason for this. Over the last few months two of my four dogs Jolie and Simon have had several visits due to serious illnesses. Many tears were shed while at Rocky Gorge and decisions needed to be made. I cannot tell you how much I appreciated everyone's compassion. It is hard to make tough decisions regarding our pets and the vets, and techs, and everyone else know what we are going through. I have had friends suggest I go to a vet closer to my home and I tell them every time, I will never take my pets to another vet other than Rocky Gorge. I don't care how far I have to drive (about 45 minutes) I love them, and I won't ever change. So here is my (((HUG)) for being the best Vets any parent of 4 crazy dogs could ever ask for.

Two comments. 1. The one thing that is off putting is that you do not accept any pet insurance. To be honest I am thinking of changing over to a place that will as its something I wil need if I rescue yet another dog. 2. Initially it was not clear that every time I booked a time I was going to be ccharged a vets office visit on top of all the other cahrges. For things like shots the vet simply just gave the shot and did no extra checking( no prodding or feeling about)so it didnt feel good. However in yout favor, your staff are mostly friendly and polite.

This visit was the worst experience I had with Rocky as it relates to my arrival and check-in. My Father passed away and I have taken his dog. When I made my appt. I made it for both dogs. I had to push the time back, but only 1 of the dogs appt was pushed back (not my fault as I specified both dogs when I called). When I arrived I was told that I had missed 1 appt and that in order to be seen I would have to see the EM Vet and pay extra. I asked if she could just check with the Vet to see. What I witnessed made me want to cry (already emotional about my Dad and this visit with his dog), but the fact that I referred him and my sister to this Vet and the response given from the Dr. was appalling. The Vet shook their hands and head perfusely while stating "absolutely not, absolutely not...". The lady from the front desk pulls the Vet out of my view. When I return to the desk to notify the front desk of my Fathers passing, she wouldn't make eye contact with me...

I love Rocky Gorge. I always have pleasant visits there and the tech I dealt with this time was very nice and professional as was the rest of the staff. We were in and out in a timely manner. The only thing I didn't like about this visit was that I was told to come in at all! My dog had chewed on a Raid Ant Bait Trap and when I called you guys I was told to bring her in right away. When I arrived I was told they couldn't do anything unless I called ASPCA Poison Control first. That was $65 by itself and a $10 fee from the visit when nobody really did anything for my dog. I'm not upset with the tech at all, but it would have been nice if the person on the phone told me when I called that I would have to call poison control no matter what, it would have saved me $10 that I didn't have to spend, because ASPCA poison control instructed me on the phone that she did not need to go to the vet. I feel like Rocky Gorge let me down this time! :(

There were some problems, noone was available to help me get my dog out of the car during emergency hours. Finally got someone who was leaving their shift to help. Waited 20 min. during emergency hours while my dog was bleeding internally. There was a mixup wherein one of the staff told me they forgot to tell the vet we were there, but then retracted it. Then I was told the vet asst. reported to the vet Hank was just lethargic and so the vet didn't have a sense of urgency about Hank. The staff really needs to work on communication. You are also understaffed. We were the only patients in all of the waiting rooms-that 20 minutes could have been time spent saving a pet's life. Hank would have died anyway and in the end it didn't matter, but we should not have experienced that. However Dr. Bricker did an EXCELLENT job with Hank and communicating with us through the surgery and decision to put Hank down. We really appreciate how compassionate and caring he and the staff were.

I've been very happy with the quality of care my pets (3 cats, 1 dog) have received at Rocky Gorge. The front desk staff is slightly rude both on the phone and in person. I've stood at the desk, waiting for someone to great me and ask how they can help, while associates finished their own conversations about unrelated topics. They seemed bothered to greet and sign us in. This has been a consistent behavior throughout the two years we've been coming to this clinic. It would be great if someone made eye contact as you come through the door, asking how they can help. Once in a room I've had good experiences, and I think the vets are great.

The girl at the counter was not very sympathetic at all and offered nothing but that I would be squeezed in. She was not friendly at all. I asked her about how long it would be and she said she could not say. Finally after over 3 hours, when i got up and came to the counter she said that Dr. Ray would be seeing me next. Never in all the time I sat there did she update me on my situation. Dr. Ray is the greatest and I waited because i wanted my cat to see her and i will bring both of my pets back to see her. I will also call in the future to make sure I have an appoinment. I was there last night from 6:45 to 10:45 p.m. I didnt want to leave and come back because my cat is not happy going and it is hard on her. If I had know it would have been that long I would have left anyway. I just kept hoping I was next.

We've been going to Rocky Gorge for years and years and we have recommended you guys to everyone we know. We especially love Dr. Wolcinski. The problem is that the wait time before and especially AFTER the appointment has slowly gotten worse and worse. Just yesterday, we waited over an hour just to pay our bill AFTER the our dogs were already seen and checked out. When we had to put my cat down a couple of months ago, we waited for the euthanasia for almost an HOUR, while in the waiting room already, having already had the dr in there once to get the injection, while my cat SUFFERED, barely breathing and in obvious pain. It was GUT WRENCHING! We had to come out and ask what was going on 3 times before someone finally acknowledged our situation! In economic times like these when both pet parents are working and it's REALLY hard to get time off to make the appointment in the first place, we REALLY hope that RGAH understands that every extra minute away from work is more money out of our pockets. Saturdays are just too nuts, so we try to avoid those as much as possible. PLEASE work on a more efficient check in and check out system and PLEASE PLEASE be more considerate to those who are watching their pet suffer while waiting to put them down. That's hard enough as it is. We love RGAH so much. Please love your customers (both human and animal) back just as much.

Plus the tech let me know what was going on so I wasn't in the dark.

The medicine I was sent home with was not already made-up and it called for 14 ml of water to be mixed with it. I had no idea how 14ml of water equated to ounces. I ended up taking a dropper that was marked as 1ml and using it to add 14 of these to the powder. The medicine should have been ready to use or I should have been given something to measure the water in ml's. One last complaint was I sat in the waiting room over 20 minutes before someone came to talk to me and get me my cat.(and I think it would have been longer but I stood up and looked very annoyed.) I just don't understand why it takes so long to check-out and get a pet after surgery.

We have been long time patients. Winnie had 2nd acl surgery this week. Came to pick him up and was treated so poorly by the front desk all the way to the tech that brought Winnie out to us for pick up. We waited over 40 minutes just to get him discharged. Front desk rudely said there were other patients before us. Not just surgery discharges. When we finally were called back to speak with the tech, she briskly went over the paperwork, as uf she were irritated. Went and got Winnie, and basically just handed him to us with Winnie "yelping". I was upset and asked her to help me and was told he'll bite me! and hastily walked away from us! I didn't know what to do other then just leave. I have to say, I have never felt this way with Rocky Gorge. What has happened? It was absolutely kaotic!

After diagnosis, I was very confused about my options for treatment. At first it seemed I was being told that my dog had a very serious condition that even if cured would lead to other serious problems, but I could still opt for treatment which included 3 days in the hospital with IV fluids and medications costing about $2000. Only after I said it didn't seem practical for an old dog to suffer through treatment only to develop more problems was I told he had a 90 percent change of full recovery. He had started eating again by the time I was able to bring him in. Last night I was told he was eating and could come home. I was told he would have had his medication and breakfast before I picked him up. He had not received any of the morning medications before pick up. He now appears much sicker than when I took him in. I could not go to work as planned because the treatment plan agreed to the night before was not followed. And he is barely responsive and not eating. Overly medicat

It was not a good visit due to Lil One was having seizures that would not stop so we had to put her to sleep. The issue that we had was,this happened on Tuesday which was very hard. On Saturday, I received a text and an email wishing her a Happy Birthday. That was the most horrifying experience; your business should of just stabbed us it would not of hurt as bad. I did call on Monday and spoke with Ms. Cathy and that was hard enough having to repeat what happened. I just hope this never happens to anyone else.

Everything was great!!! There have been many improvements over the last year and customer service has increased a great deal. Checking out and paying in the rooms with the tech has been a GREAT improvement! No more waiting in line to pay. Check in and check out for surgery is also much easier. There still needs to be more chairs in the back area where pharmacy is located. I know there is less waiting back there since you try to keep people in front but at times one must wait, it's more convenient to wait there and there is no place to sit!

The only complaint I have about RGAH is the communication issues. These are always "being worked on" but nothing seems to ever change with them. I love all the doctors at rgah and the newer staff seems very nice but that doesnt mean I dont want someone to tell me my doctor is running behind and even a guestimate on how long. I understand it happens and doctors run behind but I would have appreciated an update so I could have rescheduled for another day. Other than the communication issues everything was fine and they did get me seen as soon as they could. But again some sort of communication needs to be enforced to ensure other clients stay happy.

We had to wait for over 40 minutes to pick up our pet after his procedure. My husband sat in the waiting area, waiting to check out, for over 40 minutes. Thank Goodness some long-time staff member saw him and knew him and commented to the check-out staff that he'd been there a while. Also, our pet's leg still had the bandage from the IV cath - No instructions on when to take it off, etc. At least I used to work there and knew. No complaints about the pet care, just the human care.

Everytime we visit, and we have 4 pets, we have to wait in the room for a minimum of 30 minutes. There seems to be a miscue between the front desk and back of clinic at time, which just translates to frustration on our part. Also, we spend massive amounts of money there, and no complaint. The doctors are top notch and staff seems to be caring.

Dr. Morris was extremely sensitive to our sad situation with our much loved Australian Shepherd, Avalon. It was such a huge decision to make and we know we made the right one. Dr. Morris was supportive and helpful with both providing comfort for our Avie and to us. We will always be thankful and appreciate the skills of all of the Rocky Gorge vets past present and future.

The surgery with Dr. Morris went great, but when I picked Onyx up and the girl at the pharmacy counter gave me the meds, I asked her twice if she could give me a piece of paper so I could make some notes about the meds but she ignored my request. I also did not receive a discharge paper with information on it how to treat my dog after the surgery. I thought that the wrap around her ears was suppose to stay there until I see Dr. Morris again, since I wasn't told otherwise. The following day, Sat., the wrap came off her ears, I called and asked if I can come in and get it put back on again. The girl who answered my call told me that they have nothing to do with that since Dr. Morris is the only one who does ear crops. She gave me an appointment for Mon. at 7.50pm. That evening some stitches had come loose and I called again, this time a guy offered me to come in. I was set up to see Dr. Morris the following Mon. at 09.00am. Dr. Morris came at 10 and stapled it closed. BIG THX to Dr Mor

This is the second time I took my dog to your groomers (the first time I was told over the phone they were open and I did not need an appointment and this time the internet said they were open) and they were gone for the day when your business claims they should be there. In the past I have been charged $10 for nails being cut. In August they took my dog upstairs for his nails being cut and was charged $10. This time I was escorted upstairs and was charged $15.50 for the nails being cut which I am okay with but also an additional $10 for the technician to cut the nails. And there were two dogs. So I am being charged $20 additionally because the groomers left earlier than your business advertises. It is not my fault your groomers were gone for the day and was not told there would be an additional charge for the technician cutting their nails instead. The vets and techs are great and will be back but never again for the groomers. I will find a more local groomer that is more dependable and reliable.

Dr. Stacy Rime seems very good. I haven't had to deal with her for any serious issues, but during the times I have seen her so far I have been impressed with her thoroughness and patience in taking questions.

The doctor that saw my pet seemed to try and sell us on extras that were not necessary. He told us we should go with his "gold plan" that was almost $1000. The dog really didn't need it. I felt like I was at a used car dealer. I've had Rocky Gorge recommended by a number of people, I'm guessing they never dealt with the ER doctor that I did.

I appreciated the staff coming over to check on us while we waited, offering drinks and chatting with me about my cats. It made is seem like the wait was less than it really was. I totally understand when emergencies come through and appointments will be pushed up.

Billing was processed under the wrong name, which I caught before I left but it caused an additional wait. An honest mistake, but perhaps some safety check of verifying pet and owner name when billing system is accessed during visit would help to prevent this in the future. Like that you are trying to streamline this process.

It would be great if your facility had an animal dermatologist. It is too far for me to commute to Gaithersburg or Baltimore, especially since I will need help with the injections.

You guys have really improved on the wait time, both before the appointment and the check-out process. Paying in the room is great and makes the visit much quicker!

Prices have increased, but I was not aware of the change, nor was it explained to me. Office visits used to be $35 and recently I was charged $54. Seems to be much more than a visit for a health certificate would warrant, since I did not receive the certificate because it was deemed necessary to get an ECO to determine if there were any other issues. I have been going to Rocky Gorge since 2001, and although the new facility is excellent, the prices do not reflect the service.
