I needed an appointment due to an acute eye issue. I was able to get an appointment within 30 minutes of the time I called. I was advised there may be a wait due to squeezing me in which I understood and appreciated the heads up. However, there was NO wait! Office staff was extremely friendly and the Dr. was equally so.

Dr. Kim was excellent. She was welcoming and professional. I felt well treated by her. There was a 5+ minute wait for my signed prescription after my exam. Your prices for bulk contact lenses have increased by 30% over what I paid last year. My insurance allocation of $300 will now only cover 2 boxes (90 days ea.) rather than 3. Other vendors are lower but do not accept my Humana USAA Honor PPO insurance.

Dr. Gertz and the staff are wonderful. I had an emergency and they got me to see Dr. Gertz. After the exam, he tried to get me to a cornea specialist. They weren’t in. He had me call then the next day. He was there to help get seen if I couldn’t do it myself. Thanks to him I got to see the specialist and my eye is healing well. I highly recommend them.

I have always been happy with Dr Gertz and staff. However, after my last exam with Dr Kim, I purchased glasses for my new prescription. Within 2 hours, I cancelled the order but was charged over $100 to cancel it. At no time was I advised that it was not possible to cancel without incurring a fee. It's a good thing I did cancel the prescription because I came back the next week and Dr Gertz CHANGED the prescription. What would have happened if I hadn't cancelled the eye glass order?? I'd be stuck with the wrong prescription! So because of that situation, I am not as happy as I had been with this practice.

I had to be seen for a medical appt this week; and the staff gave me a same day appt with Dr. Kim. She is a great diagnostician and her treatment immediately helped my eye issue. Dr. Kim is awesome; and I completely trust her for my eye needs. Both Dr. Gertz and Dr. Kim are excellent optometrists! My entire family goes to see them. Also, they are both so talented in knowing when they need to make a referral for an ophthalmologist for more serious eye needs. I would give Dr. Kim whom I saw twice this week more than a 10 out of 10. Also, the staff at Dr. Gertz and Dr Kim's office is great!

He listened to my needs and individualized my treatment plan such that my new contact prescription improved my near sighted vision without interfering with my distance prescription and I no longer need my readers the way I had previously. Probably too soon for me to judge my first experience with Dr. Giligan's new affiliation and location. the staff i interacted with were pleasant and helpful, but it seemed to me that the move-in was not complete and fully accommodating for the patients like me. Even the layout of the retail space as well as the examination spaces didnt seem completed and were certainly not comfortable. It seemed to me that the opening of this new practice was rushed and not fully prepared to receive patients and customers.

I was seen for what I thought was a lost contact in my eye. Seems the contact never made it into my eye and I scratched my cornea trying to get the contact that wasn’t there out of my eye. I was seen within an hour of my call and given best medical care along with a follow up the next day. All is good.

I walked in as a new patient and without any prior appointments. The office staff was really courteous to accommodate me for a office visit and very helpful in making sure I was comfortable in everything including new patient enrollment. Dr. Robert Gertz is amazing too. He welcomed me with a great smile and patiently listened to me for everything I had to say. He subsequently scanned my eyes and clearly explained to me what was going on giving me the much needed comfort, unless some of the other doctors who either doesn't explain well or purely use medical terms to explain which mostly patients don't understand. I highly recommend Dr. Robert Gertz for an amazing care for your eyes. I was really impressed with my first visit and the person who recommended me also had a similar experience with Dr. Robert Gertz.

I recently switched insurance so we also had to change eye doctor. I went online to research which places would accept our insurance and came across this place. I don’t randomly choose a place because of past bad experiences we had with previous eye doctors. I saw the reviews of this place and decided to take my son for his annual eye exam here. I’m so glad we chose this place!! Very welcoming staff and Dr. Gertz was very nice and made us feel welcomed. He was thorough and took good care of my son and was very thorough. After my son was done with his exam, the staff assisted him with choosing out a frame. They were also very friendly and very social. They were also very clear with discussing what my insurance covers and what I need to pay. Definitely will recommend this place.

The front staff seemed to be busy and were only interested in up-selling product while i had to clarify that i wanted to only use the benefit covered by insurance. They were then focused on other customers, so i decided to have my exam completed and not purchase any glasses with the office. I took my prescription to my previous provider. I also took the step to ask my daughter to cancel her appointment and go back to our previous provided and rather wait for an appointment than take an earlier appointment with your office. I hope this feedback may action an improvement plan on front of office team, or you can choose to disregard and may lose business gradually to be forced into building a better front of office service. I love this place! Everyone was super friendly. The doctor was very general and explained every step of the process. It sucks my insurance doesn’t really cover anything other than the eye exam because I walked out with a bill of $900 but they were very understanding and discounted a few things for me too! Great selection of eyewear especially if you’re a fan of Ray Bans. I live in Baltimore but I drive all the way to Urbana just because the service is worth it!

I came to this place because I was told they took my insurance. The exam went great and was smooth sailing, someone at the desk was prompt to call my insurance to get my vsp number. I knew from my plan it included an eye exam, but I was unaware that contacts were elective, so I ended up paying for the exam out of pocket anyways. When I was done with everything and about to check out, none of that was explained to me. It felt like they were aware of this discrepancy all along. Not to mention throughout the whole exam and wel after I was being pushed by every sales team member and the doctor to buy a pair of glasses. I felt like I walked into a used car lot with hyper active car salesman. I know times are tough, but when I say no thank you, I mean it.

Great service, great doctor! I was looking for a good optometrist and it’s finally found. I have never had so many explanations about my vision. The entire staff was very nice and knowledgeable.

My daughter wasn’t actually able to have her eye exam done because she was scheduled with a doctor that couldn’t perform the exam on a child of her age. She was seen there last year, her information is in her records, I told the receptionist who made the appointment for my 3 kids that I was making appointments for my 3 kids who had been there last year. We had to reschedule so that she can be scheduled with the right doctor. It’s frustrating to have had my husband take time off of work to help wrangle our 4 kids there only to be told one of them couldn’t been seen because they put her with the wrong doctor. It was an honest mistake, but highly inconvenient and avoidable.

I had discomfort, and from the (never advised) google search of symptoms, I wanted to get my eye looked at before the holiday weekend started. The staff were able to offer a spot if I didn't mind waiting when I got there. Everyone on staff was great with greeting me, and taking a moment to chat while I waited. Dr. Gertz saw me quickly, and listened to my concerns. I walked out with reassurance I'd made the right decision to check, and not have it get worse over the weekend. V eye P eyecare rocks!

Absolutely loved my experience at V.eye.P Eyecare. They were very personable and friendly, yet also professional and explained all of my options regarding my exam, lens, and frames. I will be using them from now on. They also had amazing incentives for people without vision insurance. Reasonable prices, great service, and friendly faces. You can’t beat that.

V.eye.P is excellent! They were nice and friendly when. I walked in, greeted me promptly, and took me back for my appointment after just a minute or two. Dr. Gertz explained everything he was doing as we went through the exam. He was friendly and efficient. The staff helped me choose frames that worked for my face shape and budget!
