This is an update to my previous review. I did go back for a couple of fillings, which seemed to go well. I was very happy with the service as well as a discussion with Dr. Nathan Chesney. I will continue as a patient there.

We really appreciate your willingness to get our sons in on such short notice after we canceled our original appointment - due to being sick. My husband and I are both puzzled however on the lack of understanding and protocol for Hudson’s eruption cyst. After several calls to oral surgeons around Knoxville; nobody can see Hudson until mid July. However, after some research and a few calls to our Arizona dental connections, we found out that every permanent tooth has a cyst on top of it. And the tooth eventually erupts through. According to the pano taken, the #30 tooth seems to be a bit behind the one on the left side. We were told if it’s still that way in a week, that a pediatric dentist can make a small incision over that area to break through the tooth. Is that something your doctor is confident in doing? Not sure why we didn’t have that settling feedback yesterday. The dentist did not even return to our room after a pano image was taken.

The layout of rooms is disconcerting. The patient cannot see the staff and do not know when they enter or leave the room. At the least you could place mirrors on the wall so patients can see you. The staff should tell the patients what they are doing rather than wait for them to ask, which often they can't.

Dr Chesney and his staff are amazing. They are efficient and professional and friendly and warm and inviting. I do not have anxiety anymore when I go to the dentist. I can't say enough good things about the practice. I know I'm in good hands. Also Dr Chesney is not bad to look at.

This was my first visit and possibly my last. Katie, the hygienist who cleaned my teeth was very nice and also seemingly thorough. My impression of Dr. Nathan Chesney was that he was unfriendly and somewhat aloof. Since my back was to the door, I did not see or hear him come into the room as there was no salutation. Katie mentioned he was there and I turned and introduced myself - he responded minimally. After a few words and checking the cleaning by the hygienist, he left and, again, said nothing. From reviews I have read, I don't suppose I doubt his competency as a dentist, but I did not appreciate how I was treated by him. My sister also had a similar experience on her first and only visit and will probably not return. I haven't decided if I will; however, if I do, I will probably request treatment by another of the dentists in the group.

Staff is great, Leigh, Lauren, Lori, Kimberly any any others I met - 5 stars. Nathan is rude, rough, unprofessional and needs to obtain a degree in chairside manners - 0 stars. I left the office several times in tears. I returned only because a procedure needed to be completed but that never happened. I am left with two destroyed crowns however.

I am not specifically impressed with this location/office or the front desk staff. The hygienist does a thorough job and cares about making the client comfortable. I think there needs to be improvement in signage for this office and a friendlier desk staff so people feel welcome and comfortable when they arrive, which I did not.

Had a deep cleaning procedure. The associate had a very professional attitude (not trying to be chatty) and went about her business and got it done in a timely manner. This procedure is not a painless operation, but she must have done it correctly since I had no pain or soreness afterwards. I was expecting to have pain that night.

This review was already posted on Google. "New to the area and needed to find a dentist that was in my insurance network. I was very pleased with my experience at Chesney Dentistry in Fountain City. The front office staff already had authorization from my insurance carrier when I arrived and were both professional and friendly. My hygienist was personable and very thorough. I was way overdue for a cleaning due to my move from out of state and she restored my teeth to the stain free pearly whites they're meant to be. Dr. Nathan Chesney was also very personable. If looking for a good dentist, you can't go wrong with Chesney Dentistry...great experience from start to finish."

I was made comfortable They sensed I was nervous and did all they could to keep me calm. But most importantly they went to work and solved all my issues with my teeth. I am now 1 happy camper.

Several days later one area of my gums is still tender and causes pain when I brush my teeth. Also, I was shocked by the cost of service. In the future, I will decline the x-rays.

Conversely, Dr Nathan seems to lack personality. I suppose as long as he does his job well that's really what matters. But it's Dr Gary who keeps me loyal to Chesney Dentistry. I have been with Chesney Dentistry North since they opened their doors many years ago in North Knoxville. Dr. Chesney is a dentist that I can trust for accurate, honest, and professional work, and enjoys hearing good jokes occasionally. The injection of Novocaine is something that I have often dreaded, but Dr. Chesney's way of doing this has never been painful, which I would assume, would be a great relief for kids. They have warm and friendly receptionists at the front, great hygienists, and excellent dental assistants that provide your every need and comfort during minor fixes or crown procedures. If a temporary crown comes off, I have been slid into the schedule the next day for the quick fix. And they have an emergency number in case you get a toothache after business hours.

From walking into the door with a nice professional, courteous receptionist able to welcome me in with warmth was so inviting and to see my original dental hygienist was icing on the cake and lastly Dr Chesney walked in and he was so kind , gentle and attentive was the cake topper! Dr Chesney dentisr wonderful. He was professional and very caring. I have to get a tooth pulled and was very nervous about it. He gave me a lot of good options and I will be going back in a week or so to get the tooth pulled. He makes me very comfortable and I trust him. His assistant Bri was also very kind. I do not enjoy going to the dentist but my experience with Dr Chesney was better than I thought it would be. I I would strongly recommend him.

Collective staff is always very friendly and helpful as well. Hygienist routinely asked if I was doing okay and asked appropriate questions as well. Dentist friendly at the outset of the procedure. He made the decision to numb my mouth, which was helpful with pain tolerance, since I have sensitive teeth. When he got up to leave the room after giving me multiple shots, he did not share that he would be back as soon as the medicine had time to numb me appropriately, however, the dental assistant did tell me before she got up and left the room. After finishing up, he left and went on to other patients. Perhaps he said something and I failed to hear what he said. Although just my second visit with him, he seemed less overt than the previous visit. I realize he has other patients and maybe he did not have the time he had previously.

Dr Chesney was 30 minutes late arriving at my chair side. It was unfortunate as I was his first patient of the day. No explanation..no apology..I had to call back later to challenge him as for the reason for his tardiness. Only then did I get an apology. He reminded me of Forest Tucker’s character in John Wayne’s “the sands of Iwo Jima.” If I had been waiting on Dr Chesney for a re-supply of ammunition on the high ground..I would have been dead!

I have had previous horrible experiences with my old dentist and had hesitations about going to someone new but I needed to keep up with my cleanings. They made me feel comfortable about being there and explained everything before doing any work on me. My anxiety was skyrocketing when I entered the office and by the time I left I didn't have any. I haven’t been to a dentist in approx. 3 years because every time I went..I’d go in WITH NO PAIN and leave WITH PAIN.. Therefore, that created my phobia of dentists. Well, I broke a molar and was forced to find a dentist to have this fixed. I found Chesney Dentistry through reviews and convenient to work and home. I was scared to death going in..worried about not only the discomfort I would endure but being judged for not having been to a dentist in so long. My worry was for NOTHING!! Dr. Nathan and his staff were AWESOME! I always said you can pretty much judge a dentist on how he gives you Novicane...I didn’t even feel the needle AND I had NO discomfort or pain the next day!! I never thought I’d say this..but I am actually looking forward to going back and getting my teeth and gums healthy again under the care of Chesney Dentistry! Thank you all for restoring my faith and confidence in dentists!

Going to the Dentist always makes me apprehensive even after all these years. Everyone at Chesney Dentistry North was super kind and made my visit a pleasant one. I will not be dreading my return appointment. The office it nice! It's cheerful, bright, clean and has a happy feeling. The only negative side is the office is kept way to cold. When I get cold, my body hurts.

Shiela (hygienist) seemed to do an excellent job cleaning. Dr Nathan seemed friendly and caring. Just wish they had given me a plan B. $1400 to get a tooth fixed is totally out of the question. I'm still paying medical bills from 2012 for cancer surgery and probably will be for next 20 years.if I live that long. I'll probably lose that tooth which will mess up the fitting of my partial. But that's not your problem.

Thanks for the survey. My Husband and I were patients of Dr. Hudson for many years, so this transition has been a bit uncertain. I felt a bit alone without Gina Woods during my visit on Sept. 20th. I hope that she will get to come back as a technician if a job becomes available. Although she was a technician to Dr. Hudson, Gina was very knowledgeable and we were extremely comfortable with her service as an assistant.

I am so glad the Dental practice is still going to stay here on Sanders. I "Almost" enjoy going to the Dentist now! Everyone there greets you with a smile, and makes your visit special. My hygienist is the best, and I enjoyed meeting Dr. Chesney yesterday. Thank you all!

The staff has always made me feel like a friend. I appreciate their professionalism while maintaining a personal level of interaction. I couldn't ask for a better environment or staff to take care of my dental needs. Dr. Major has always been friendly and patient to explain any issues I've had. Donna is fantastic to work with and she's never too busy to ensure my needs are met. Sheila and Rachel have great attitudes and infectious smiles. This staff seems to enjoy their jobs. As a transfer patient from a clinic that went out of business, I was a bit hesitant but assumed the referral would be genuine and with a clinic with good standing in the community. My recent first visit was extremely pleasurable. There was absolutely no waiting period, the staff was very cordial and welcoming, and the service was very professional, thorough, and informative. I will be a long term patient.
