I waited an hour before I saw the doctor. The whole appointment took an hour and a half for a general check up. Dr. Gauer and team are excellent however the wait time was not acceptable. I also have a work schedule with consecutive appointments that was adversely affected by the delay.

I had an issue in one eye that scared me. I went into the office on Friday morning to see if she could work me in that day. The office workers were so kind and gave me a time to come back. When I arrived back I didn't wait longer than 5 minutes. Dr. gauer examined my eyes, tests were taken and I knew what had happened. I'd had an ocular migraine. Everyone in the office did all they could to help me and Dr. Gauer spent a lot of unhurried time with me. What a great place and doctor!!

The office staff was very helpful and professional while I checked in for my appointment. Dr Gauer and her assistant were both friendly, professional and spent the time to explain the changes in my prescription. I will definitely recommend her to anyone who is looking for an appointment for an eye exam.

Everyone is so welcoming and helpful! I'm a retired RN and am so grateful to have found this practice. I have worn glasses since age 10--have had many optometrists to compare them to. Dr. Gauer & Co. are excellent, and I have complete confidence that I am receiving state-of-the-art care.

I had a great experience with my office visit. This was my first visit to this office as I am new to Roseburg. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and greeted me as I entered the lobby. It didn't take long to fill out the new patient forms. I was promptly escorted to a room where multiple tests were performed by the tech. She explained everything very well. Dr Gauer then came in and explained the results. We the went into a different room where Dr Gauer examined my eyes and completed additional tests to define the proper prescription. I was the handed a paper copy of my prescription. There was no pressure to purchase glasses through the office as some optometrist offices do. Overall, a great experience!

Knowledgeable staff and welcoming as well. Dr. Gauer is impressive, a Dr who listens carefully to my concerns and goes above providing care, even walking me out to the door! I told her she was very nice! With Dr Gauer’s help and advice I was able to find a more affordable price for my eye drops!

Both Ron and I feel your employee Jillian was not helpful or upfront with us regarding insurance and glasses we were entitled to with our vsp insurance. She never told us what we were being charged for and we had never paid for glasses at our annual exam. The add ons were done without any consultation. In fact, I specifically asked for the prices of frames and the ones I selected she had told me were $185, our insurance. covers frames up to $200, and when Ron came in to get a detailed billing it showed the price of the frames as $200. The things we were charged for in addition were not discussed with us as optional, she just charged for them. We have never paid out of pocket for polycarbonate lenses or scratch coatings. We really like your vision care, and you as a doctor but feel we got poor service from Jillian in particular. It is irritating and for this reason we probably will not be back.

I was impressed by the technology and thoroughness of the exam. My only suggestion is to allow the patient to choose where they want to fill the prescription and get frames. I felt a little pressured to pay for the prescription right then. I could make them feel comfortable and less pressured. This is meant to be constructive not a complaint.

We had a wonderful visit with Dr. Bonnie Gauer. The staff was helpful; we had minimal waiting time. Dr. Gauer is very nice, while being effective and efficient. She took the time to review our medications and shared how certain meds can affect our vision. We look forward to our return visits.

Love Dr. Gauer! Although I had not seen her in 5+ years, she remembered me and my eyes like it was yesterday. I even have new insurance now, that she does not actually contract with and as much as I love her, I was willing to pay cash because I did not want to see another eye doctor! For my first visit it was probably the best optometrist appointment I've ever been to, or any appointment for that matter. The staff were absolutely amazing and the eye doctor herself was super sweet and really amazing with helping pick out a good style for my face for my first time wearing glasses. Dr, Gauer took me in on very short notice to look into what appeared to be a severed ruptured vessel in my left eye. She examined my eye and determine the source of the bleeding and examined my vision as well. Her assessment of my eye was that the redness would go away in one or two weeks. To my satisfaction, the eye is already showing signs of improvement after only a few days.

My Husband and I both had eye injuries at the same time, Dr. Gauer took great care of us, we were not patients before that, she took us right in and treated us. She has been vastly superior to any one we have dealt with! Her staff was also great!

Dr. Gauer and her staff has been always spot on with evaluations and glasses to help me see better. Some twenty years ago on my very first exam with Dr. Gauer she noticed that my optic nerve was bulging and lined me up with another physician who was able to reduce the pressure on the nerve, my site got instantly better as well and eliminated the vertigo. Note Question 10 answer would have been maybe 2 years ? if not for Covid concerns etc.

Not only has she helped me to understand how my sight works, she has also helped with other issues that affect my sight. She asked if I slept well. First let me just say I love that as someone with a disability this office had no issues making accommodations for me so I could fully understand what's going on. They made sure I got my perscription in the right pharmacy (even called me when they had issues dealing with a pharmacy, I really appreciate them asking if I would like to send over to another store). They were happy to answer my Neverending questions on my condition. Fantastic staff. Dr. Bonnie Gauer is just as amazing (I really appreciate the updated equipment that doesn't shoot air in your eyes). She was willing to answer any questions I had (even though that day I didnt have very many until I went home). I didn't at all feel rushed with her. She seems to genuinely care about your eye health. Great doctor, great staff. I highly recommend this place to anyone. I travel 2 hrs just to see her.

I always used to get nervous going to the optometrist, but I no longer feel that way now that I go to Dr. Guaer's office. Everyone there is so kind and helpful. Mary (assistant) was so patient with me when I had a difficult time with trying out contacts. Mary as well as Dr. Guaer both made me feel comfortable and well taken care of. The receptionists are always very kind and helpful as well.

They even explained to me what the machines did and showed pictures they took of my eyes, which no other place has done before, so I thought that was really neat! Dr. Gauer is by far the best optometrist I've ever had. She gave me tips to help ease my eyes since I have so much screen time thanks to online schooling. Her personality made the appointment all around enjoyable.

Also when I picked my frames for my new glasses, when I didnt like the color a staff member looked them up and ordered them in a better color for me. As usual, I received prompt, courteous, professional care yesterday. I awoke that morning w/ a burning irritation in my eye which had been only "a suggestion" the night before and, I thought, 'no big thing'. Well, now, with my Rx meds. , I'm symptom free and have lost the pain.

Bonnie and her staff are friendly and knowledgeable. When I walk in they great me by name. If there is any kind of problem , it is addressed right away. I had to wait much longer than usual on my last visit. I rarely have to wait for 10 minutes.

Happy happy happy! I brought 2 of my sons here. Age 6 and 13. Was blown away with her kindness and patience and humor with my 6yr old. The environment was calm and not intimidating. It had zero clinical feel to the visit. I am very pleased as a mother. Thank you

First time to see Dr. Gauer. The visit went very good and the Dr. was very thoroughly, with great bedside manners. The staff was courteous, friendly, and very helpful. I would greatly recommend her to my friends and family.

My daughter said," Dr. Gauer understood me and helped me understand myself and what I have been seeing." Dr. Gauer did one visit what another, supposedly "expert" Dr. who had been treating my daughters Nystagmus for 4 yrs. could not even come close too explaining or helping. We are so thankful for Dr. Gauer, she has changed my daughters eyesight from 20/50 to 20/30 in just a couple of visits and plans to work to get her to 20/20. I can not even explain how this has Impacted her life!! We are so thankful for Dr. Gauer!

Dr. Gauer is, by far, the best optometrist I've ever been to. She's thorough, detailed and also very friendly. My only reason for not leaving a five star rating is that my husband and I consistently have trouble reaching her office. At least 80% of the time, the phone goes directly to messaging, and it can take days to get a response. I've also tried email, but never received a reply. If I ever have an emergency, I will almost certainly have to go somewhere else.

At my last appt she took the time to bge sure I understood the nature of eye surgery that I need, and did an excellent job answering all my questions. Also, a couple of months ago, my husband had an urgent situation and they accommodated us quickly.

I appreciate that at Dr. Gauer's office I will be greeted warmly by a reception desk staff that does not present a harried, highly-stressed appearance, which I have found to be the case with some of my other medical providers' front office staffs. I know at Dr. Gauer's office that my appointment time will be long enough for her to carefully exam my eyes and get all the information she needs, and that I will have the results of her findings fully and clearly explained to me. Dr. Gauer has up to date technology in her clinic to provide precise information about the physiology of my eyes that gets shared with me so I understand just what is going on with my vision. I feel I can trust completely the information I receive from Dr. Gauer, and that she genuinely cares about my health.
