Very competent, friendly service. All employees are most helpful and there to help you. Dr Bovio is a great doctor listening to any and all of your concerns. The exam is very complete and results are shared with the patient. Questions encouraged and explained in easy to understand language.

What an outstanding office! That staff was very friendly and efficient. The office itself was spacious and bright. I was impressed with both Dr. Bovio and his technician’s thoroughness in my exam. All my questions were answered and everything was explained in a helpful and professional manner.

We just moved to the Lakewood Ranch, FL one year ago. I generally use the Healthgrade app to find doctors. We selected to go to Gulfcoast Eye Center based on the on the high Healthgrades rating and the Google ratings For this practice was over 400+ . Dr. Bovio and his staff are great!!! I highly recommend this practice to anyone Who is looking for an optometrist!

Dr Bovio has taken care of my eyes for over 16 years. When I first came to him I was having serious eye problems. He treated my situation after finding some serious situations. Due to his expertise and the most modern equipment, my situation has been corrected. If you have a eye problem, I would highly suggest making a appointment to SEE for yourself what can be achieved through expert care. All of his staff are also fantastic and very welcoming at all times. The eye glass center has a large variety of frames that will satisfy anyones style. I recommend Gulf Coast Eye Center to be the best locally!!

Did not like the lady that checked me out she charged 2 co-pays tha is not legal tried to explain to her but would not listen, you send into the primary eye insurance then what is not covered you send into secondary but a co-pay is not charged. She better study up on how to check patients out. I will not be back.

after having another eye specialist tell me there was nothing to do except operate i was recommend to the Gulfcoast Eye Center. they not only corrected my vision to 20/20 they also cleared up an infection i had that the former doctor never even mention. That was 5 years ago. I just had this years check up and they were just as successful and tell me it will be several more years before he will be recording any type of surgery.

Dr. Steven Bovio was awesome, he explained all of the tests that we did and how he could help improve my vision by making some adjustments with my contacts and glasses. I am fairly new to the Sarasota area and it was a wonderful experience. The staff was also very polite and accommodating in helping me pick out new frames, I can honestly say I was very impressed and I highly recommend this facility.

I recently moved to Sarasota and was in need of a knowledgeable and professional optometrist. Dr. Bovio met my expectations. I was impressed with how well he understood my various eye conditions, as well as his ability to address each one. He established a plan that sounds hopeful. I was also impressed with his office staff and the beautiful and efficient manner in which they operate and run their office. They were extremely organized and efficient. The new office is fantastic. The over all visit went very well. The only issue I had is when they did a test that usually requires prior insurance approval. I did not get told about this and as a result had to pay out of pocket at the end. Next time something like that comes up for any patient please tell them and give them the option to pay out of pocket or get approval and come for a return visit. Some people don't have money laying around for things like that. Other than that charge, all other charges were expected.

The office staff is very friendly and informative. The Dr actually sits and talks with you and goes over everything with you. Very courteous and friendly. The only thing I would say to change would be if the patient takes the time to fill out all the new patient paperwork on line then have someone input that information into their file instead of asking all the same questions over and over when they take you back for the pre exam. Just gets redundant.

I had very bad eyesight and after seeing the doctor, he said I should wear a lens for my right eye. It took me time to get to put the lens in my eye, but now I do it by myself. I use ClearKone for my eye and it is made in the USA by SynergEyes. If you need help with your eyes go to Dr. Bovio and he will help you.

Dr.Bovio is friendly, compassionate and knowledgeable. I have recommended him to several people. I wait for my yearly eye appointments until I return to Florida. Samantha, the tech, kept yawning the whole time she was dealing with me. It was very off putting. She didn't apologize or attempt to stifle her yawn. She seemed to be efficient.

There are a number of things I appreciate about Gulfcoast Eye Center. Staff are calm, friendly and competent. Personally, I prefer not to go to places where the phone staff and front desk staff are surly, too busy to look up and look just plain miserable to be working there. When I called to make an appointment, Scott answered the phone and he was very friendly, professional and helpful. When I arrived, there was a calm, content, friendly atmosphere in the office. I was greeted pleasantly and did not have to wait for my appointment. Dr. Bovio appeared to be very task oriented and competent. I would not call him warm and fuzzy but that is fine with me as his demeanor is professional and inspires confidence. Grace helped me to pick up my frames and she was wonderful. There is a huge selection of frames and she did not rush me through. She was also very helpful in giving honest feedback and picking out the perfect frame. I would highly recommend this office.

Gulf coast, look and see this! Dr. Bovio and his staff have moved from their old location on Beneva Rd. to a newly designed (by Dr. Bovio) beautiful facility on S. Tamiami Trail near Webber St. Their eye-catching sign as my husband and I passed by several times, made me eager to find out more about them, so I checked out their website. Since we are new residents of Sarasota, we were looking for a new eye dr. I am Sooo glad I called! Samantha, a staff member was warm and welcoming on the phone. She confirmed that they were taking new patients and offered to set up my first appointment, which ended up being that very afternoon! I thought it would take weeks! We were greeted warmly by Beth, a senior staff member, given paperwork to fill out and shortly after, taken to a pre-exam room by another smiling staff member, Erica. Dr. Bovio himself took time with me, listened to my concerns, and thoroughly checked my eyes. He even found and fixed a problem I didn't realize the cause for. He was very kind. My husband was impressed as well. I look forward to an ongoing relationship with this practice and it's great people! Highly recommend them!

A wonderful experience or as wonderful as an eye appointment is! They took me in 30 mins after I had called for an appointment! The staff and Dr were friendly and courtesy. They helped me pick out the pair of glasses that fit me well and I liked, as well as a pair of sunglasses, didn't take long at all! That was 👌🏼 usually it took me the longest and was a tough decision! Plus the lens are guaranteed for 2 years! I will never push off an eye dr appointment again! The Dr also gave me contact lens I now love (and totally HATED contacts before and only wore them to go snorkeling!) thanks for the great service! I will recommend you to all my friends!

The person running the machine to scan the back of my eye took for too long and then I found out she didn't get a full picture so they could not be used. I believe she was filling into for someone who was out, but more training would save everyone time and get desired images.

My appointment with the DR was excellent as was the staff. However, Tom the eye glass person does not listen well. I asked him for a quote for new definity golf sunglasses. First he sent me a quote for regular glasses with sunglasses as an additional option. Then, he resent me a quote for difinity golf sunglasses but with a brown lens. Definity golf sunglasses recommend an amber tint designed to improve contrast. I want to reinforce I'm very happy with the care I continue to receive from the Dr. and staff. But, I'm not as confident with Bob the new eye glass person. As a result, I'll be ordering glasses from another local DR's office.

MY VISIT WAS EXCEPTIONAL AS IS ALWAYS THE CASE WITH DR. BOVIO AND HIS STAFF. I DO REALIZE THERE ARE NEW STFF MEMBERS ON BOARD WHICH I BELIEVE WITH MORE FAMILIARITY WILL AGAIN MEASURE UP TO THE PREVIOUS STAFF PERFORMANCE, EFFECIENCY, AND PROFESSIONALLY FRIENDLY ATOMSPHERE WHICH LONG TIME PATIENTS WERE ALWAYS ACCUSTOMED TO. AS FOR DR. BOVIO: HIS PROFESSIONAL, CALM DEMENOR & EXCEPTIONAL PRESENTATION OF THE TREATMENT PROCESSES, DIAGNOSIS AND PROGNOSIS WOULD RATE HIS PRACTICE AMONG THE HIGHEST REFERENCE ANYWHERE, IN MY OPINION. HIS PRACTICE OFFERS ALL THE SUPPORT SERVICES AND SUPPLIES ONE COULD EXPECT FOR COMPLETE VISION CARE. I BELIEVE HIS PRACTICE AND STAFF GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO MAKE ALL THINGS POSSIBLE TO THE PATIENT.

3 of the 4 girls were wonderful....I felt like the dr. Was rushing with me...he wasnt very personable....pretty cut and dry and my vision with the contacts are pretty blurry however I havent informed them because im not sure if I want to return

Dr. Bovio and his staff are a pleasure to deal with. He has state of the equipment and the staff is knowledgable in its operation. Dr. Bovio gives a thorough examination and explains the diagnosis and options for treatment.

I was in a lot of pain due to a scratch on my cornea. The front office lady was fabulous and got me right in first thing that morning. All of the staff and the doctor were terrific and I'm feeling much relief now. I will highly recommend this office to friends and family.

All was great. I would only ask that you give us an actual copy of our perscription for glasses with our paperwork. I am probably going to order one pair from you on my next visit in a month, but would also like to order a pair of perscription sunglasses directly from the vendor.
