I switched my dental care to JP's family dentistry two years ago due to moving and really enjoyed my experience with them. The whole crew at the office really care about your oral health and want to make sure you have the beautiful smile that you deserve. On top of the service that they should provide and deliver, here are a few things that I think they did exceptional and beyond my expectation. 1) Their automatic appointment reminding system (sent a week and two days prior to apt) via email or text (your choice when registering) makes sure you to never miss an appointment. Even when I have to reschedule, they always work with me to the schedule earliest appt possible. 2) They only recommend the treatment that you need and provides transparent cost breakdown and give you time to consider the treatment. They never pressure sale or force any decision. 3) I also like Dr. JP's style, he is very professional and makes his points super concise and clear. He is also willing to work with me on my concern and budget. I would high recommend J Philipp Family Dentistry to anyone in the neighborhood.

We have been patients of Dr. Philipp's for two years. The front desk staff is awesome. They work with me to make appointments that work around other appointment we may have. Most recently we have had the pleasure of having Denise for cleanings. In my view, Dr. Phillips is excellent. We have had fillings and crowns and have not had any problems with them. My husband and I recommend this practice.

On my first visit to Dr. Phillip I found him to be stand-off’ish. However, I did not want to rush into judgment. I went ahead and scheduled other appointments for my kids and for me to do four cavities, according to him. I asked and was given the “happy pill” to help me bare the stress. My daughter drove me in that day and was with me the whole time so my assessment of that visit was not just my own drugged perception. As I moan in the chair from the pain of injection, this Doctor simply informs me that there are other patients in the office. His response to my moaning with the subsequent injections is yelling at me to “you have got to stop!” As I write this, I’m still shocked with the tremendous lack of compassion of this Doctor. I understand he does not want to alarm other patients but the least he could do is say some understanding or comforting words. You know standard bed side manners! Tears came down my face not from the physical pain as much as from the meanness of this Doctor. All I could think of is to not piss him off so he does not hurt me as he continues working and drilling my teeth. Needless to say, as soon as I got home, I called and cancelled my kids appointment. I would never come to this office ever again. After my visit, I read the google reviews and discovered several people complaining that he told them that they have cavities but turns out they did not. They also said that they were given a discount if they paid for the cavity work in advance. I felt pressured that way too. After I paid and left, I was thinking how this is the first time in my life that I get so many cavities. I brushed it off since I had already paid. Now I’m wondering, did I or did I not? I have to say the staff were all awesome, professional and so friendly. Too bad they have to work with such an unprofessional Doctor.

The tech who cleaned my teeth was awesome. I'm sorry I don't remember her name. The entire visit was just a typical high-pressure sales assault to scare me into believing all my teeth are going to fall out unless I spend $2000+ dollars for all the work that needs to be done. It can be reduced if I spend more money to join their club. Myriad x-rays and photos were taken but they were all behind me, out of my sight, and I was never asked if I wanted to see them. Just further fodder for mistrust. Everyone was nice enough but dentist offices have become stereotypical and most give clients every reason to compare them to used car lots. This office is no different in that regard.

After looking for long time a good dentist and even tried before another place in Phoenix. Finally I found the best dentist, no only in Chandker for me the best and here in Arizona. I had no dentist since moving! And just broke my front tooth off! I had to be in Albuquerque NM in two days giving a presentation. I walked in without an appointment! The staff are very warm, welcoming, and accommodating. I voiced slight concern regarding cleaning around a permanent retainer due to bad experiences at a different office, and the amazing woman who cleaned my teeth not only was very gentle and thorough around my retainer, but also showed me how to clean the retainer better at home so that I would not have as much build up. Dr. Philipp is very efficient, and was more than willing to answer all of my questions. Had I known this office was so fantastic, I would have come sooner and not been so worried! Thank you, all! To any apprehensive folks out there: This office is fantastic. You won't find a better place to go! I recommended this office to two friends within 10 minutes of my first appointment ending.

It's been a tough last 2 visits as my bridgework was not correct past two visits. I have to adjust my work travel schedule to get back in the office and find out the bridge didn't fit right, I can see once but now I have to come back a 3rd time and don't feel good about it. Also I am being charged a balance that I thought it was paid by insurance company as it was noted on my statement I wasn't going to be billed anymore as the provider wasn't going to charge me the difference. I was told the insurance company only paid what I was allowed on the plan. I feel since I have to come back a third time that should offset any small balance I owe, I don't charge the dentist for my time having to come back 3 times to get it right.

I just moved across town and selected Dr. Philipp and his staff for my dental care. From my previous provider, I knew there was an issue yet to address, but I was surprised to learn there were other issues as well to which my previous team never informed me. The way Dr. Philipp and his staff explained everything to me and identified all my options (and their pros/cons as well as any possible consequences), I knew I had stumbled onto the right team for me. Extremely knowledgable, compassionate, and professional beyond compare, the team provided me with outstanding communication (before, during and after my first appointment) and gave me the information I needed to make the best decision for me. I'm generally a skeptical person and want to research everything before making my decisions, and this group of professionals recognized that and built trust with me immediately. I had some extensive work done (2 crowns and 2 fillings). I can’t say enough about Dr. Philipp and his staff. Professional, comforting, funny. I was so relaxed during the procedure. And the outcome was outstanding. They said I might be a little sore. Might need to take some Tylenol. I had no pain, no soreness and no discomfort. Kudos to Dr. Philipp and his staff.

J. Philipp Family Dentistry is a team of incredible people who are dedicated to helping and guiding you along your dental goals. I had found them online through a google search and picked their office because of a promotion they were offering and the proximity to my house. I believe it was for a 20$ exam and cleaning or something like that. Anyways, I'm truly blown away at how friendly everybody is and their willingness to work with you. They offered me a discount for paying ahead of time, not to mention their rates for crowns and fillings are very reasonable. Dr. Philipp IS a Packers fan but other than that sad fact, I would recommend this dentistry to anyone!;)

I really appreciated the fact that the staff was able to accommodate my child during my filling repair. They talked to him, got him a few crayons with paper to color on, a cookie and let him sit in the room where I had my filling fixed. I was really in a situation with no options but to take my child with me to the dentist and again I was thankful for the staff's and the doctor's hospitality.

I love your office staff, and their professionalism. I signed up for the $ 89 discounts, but the flyer does not have any example prices like other dentists programs. The bottom says xrays, floride etc. are included but when I asked to have the floride done, it was $ 29 ?? The hygenist was very nice, but you should update your $ 89 program and let let people know what they will save so you would sell a lot more programs. When I asked what the costs are, they could only say it was 25% off, and cleaning was $ 59. I felt like I was at Willy Wonka's with all the candy, and appreciate your helping our military. Entire staff was courteous professional and answered all of my questions. The office was clean, comfortable and I left with a good sense of my dental awareness. I was so impressed with Dr Phillips and Staff yesterday . I called in at 7:30 am and so pleasantly surprised that they were in office and answering ! WOW . I had woken up with painful infection . I reside in Chandler and had to be to my office in Casa Grande by 10:00 am . No problem . Took me in at 8:00 am . Exam and then the medicine I required they had right there ! No pharmacy. Got to work early !!

The dental assistants were very pleasant and helpful. Dr. Philipp seemed knowledgeable and explained my condition and treatment options in a manner that was very easy to understand. I am a new patient and I heard of Dr. Philipp through an advertisment that I received in the mail. When I called for an appointment I explained that I wanted ti get a 2nd opinion on my dental treatment and that the ad I received stated that for new patients a 2nd opiniin would be free of charge. The receptionist confirmed that the visit would be free so I made the appointment. Subsequently, my insurance was billed therefore my visit was not free. It was pointed out to me the fine print in the ad said insurance may be billed if appropriate. To me the advertisement was very misleading if not false and I was also mislead during the appointment process. As a result the process has left me disapponted. I will not be returning to Dr. Philipp in the future for any type of treatment and will also let anyone I know seeking a dental reference my disappointment.

The office was beautifully decorated and the staff was very professional and friendly. The girls at the front desk even went above and beyond to help me out with my insurance. We did experience an issue at our appointment and weren't able to get the procedures done that we needed to. We were told one thing over the phone but it turns out that was not the case once we got to the office. I would still highly recommend this office despite that issue.

Dr. Philipp was open, thorough, and frank in his assessments of necessary treatments. The annual membership fee makes all other fees comparable to "bargain" dentistry programs. DR.PHILIPP, AFTER MY 9 CAVITIES WERE COMPLETED ON 12/12/16, I COULDN'T EAT VERY MUCH UNTIL 12/16/16 BECAUSE MY LOWER LIP HURT SO MUCH WHEN I TRIED TO EAT. THE LOWER LIP SKIN PEELED OFF AND I CLEANED IT WITH LISTERENE SEVERAL TIMES A DAY. THEN AFTER CLEANING THE DRY LIP SKIN WITH Q-TIP SOAKED IN LISTERENE, I APPLIED MENTHOLATUM SEVERAL TIMES A DAY. EVERY TIME THE FOOD TOUCHED THE LIP I WAS IN PAIN. IT TOOK A LONG TIME FOR THE NUMBNESS, ESPECIALLY LOWER LIP AREA, TO BE NORMAL. BUT THEN THE PAIN PERSISTED WHEN FOOD TOUCHED THE LIP. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I HAD PAINFUL, LIP PEELING EXPERIENCE, TRYING TO EAT. THANK- GOODNESS, I CAN EAT NOW, WITH JUST A SLIGHT DISCOMFORT.

I was pretty disappointed. There was a temp fitting me for a temporary cap for the crown i needed. It was Friday 12/09/16 The cap fell off that evening while eating soup and crackers and tortellini of course the office was closed I called the answering service and after 4 hours got a call from your office while the answering service said the dentist in call would call me in 30 minutes to get me in to repair it, I had to go thru the while weekend without the cap which was uncomfortable I was able to get in to your office at 2:00 on Monday

Yesterday I was charged for a periodontal cleaning which was $107. What was done was nothing more than a regular check-up as far as I was concerned. Other cleanings I've had with other dentists were the exact same thing she did yet it cost me almost twice as much. Why?????

It is so nice to find a dentist who not only cares about the healthy of your mouth, teeth, and gums but also cares about taking preventative measures to keep future issues away. Dr. Phillip was meticulous about his work, and was incredibly encouraging about the work that needed to be done. Sarah Garcia spent 1.5 hours going over insurance and payment options until we came up with a plan that would financially work for me! I had too pay $50 bucks for a changed appt! I made my invisiline appt and a cavity appt at the same time. Due too unforseen financial issues, mind you I just spent $3200.00 on invisiline at this office, I couldn't afford the $650.00 dollar cavity bill. So I said I need too reschedule for the cavities but still need too get my 2nd set of invisiline trays. I was told I had too pay for an hour of cancellation! Because they had me down for hour and a half and now I was only gonna be there 30 mins. So I payed the money even though I was there, just not for the whole hour and half they had scheduled me for. Would have been nice too hear, we understand! Things happen, let's reshecule and since your coming in anyways we won't charge you for a missed appt you actually didn't miss, you just had too change. Bad call in my opinion. Great office, just seems like $50 dollars was worth more than continuous business. The dentist is amazing though!!! Only reason I will continue too use him!!!

As a child I never had any pleasant dental experiences. So as an adult I kind of avoided it. I had damage on my teeth from my braces being removed and I had ELEVEN cavities. The team was quick and efficient and friendly. They gave me clear instructions on how to communicate while they were working in my mouth and they gave me a follow up call the next day just to see how I was doing. I actually look forward to my follow up in six months and am amazed by how much better my smile looks.

I felt everyone was very professional and knowledgeable about their areas of expertise. Being a snow-bird from South Dakota, I picked Dr Phillips via his website. I was in need of an emergency dentist! I saw from the website that he had received an award in years past, he was a friend of Veteran's and his charges, as far as I could tell, were within line of others. He took time to identify my problem, explain the options to me and gave me some time to discuss with my spouse. He fit me into his work day and I was relieved of my pain within the day. I need to return in a couple of weeks to complete the treatment, but am having no further pain at this point.

I felt at ease with all the staff. the cleaning was was great as was the doc. I only felt a let down when it came to my finances in order to be able to follow through. Which i will. Also the gal moved away who referred me to you so I have no name - it was around 4 or 5 months ago. would this qualify as a referral? Pls let me know. Okay. the particular Assistant that supported Dr Philipp on my crown prep is inept --extremely slow and tentative on picking off excess material on the build up --took 6 tries to remove the high point on the temp crown --messed up the cement and could not get the crown cusp low --after repeated attempts I asked her to get the Dr. --he had to remove and clean up the crown so it could be installed properly --clanked instruments off my teeth --pricked my lip with the pick --after re-install another timid period of removing excess cement RECOMMENDATION - train her properly or fire her! The hygienist I had was very good and no issues with Philipp

I had impressions made for my invaslin I have done it before and they never feel great but this time it was so painful! She couldn't get the bottom ones to come out so she really had to yank them I cried from the pain. My lower jaw and teeth ached all day yesterday and my gums were so red and swollen. I also had a blood blister. I was and still am upset about this. I don't want to do it again.

The service was excellent, please do not get me wrong. I just have the feeling that Dr. Phillip used a large bur to dig a big space and quickly finish the job which, by the time of the replacement of the filling or if it cracks (those things do not last forever) will leave less tooth to work with. He did also reduced one of the crests of my back molars without letting me know, I mean I already knew it had to be done from my previos dentist but always refused to, I would have accepted for sure if advised in advance. I feel as if my concerns are not addressed by Dr Phillips. When I complained about my continued loss of teeth, no matter how good I take care of them, his comment was " you are the kind of people that keep us dentists in business". Not very helpful or reassuring. My front bridge installed the earlier part of this year is still uncomfortable and not in the center of my mouth. The five tooth bridge he just placed is uncomfortable and I can't eat on it yet.

I did not experience any pain during this visit. A gap in my upper left back molar was repaired and there is no longer a gap. The crowns on both left and right lower molars appear to working ok. Only sensitivity to cold on upper left molar. Dentist appears to do quality work with technological advanced equipment. Assistant is pleasant and attuned to detail. Staff at the front desk are all working diligently and non-stop. This is a hardworking productive team over-all.

The dentist did not numb me properly. Even after a double dose of the numbing agent, I felt everything. No one explained the effects of lidocaine, which I've never been given before. My previous dentist used novacaine. I had a severe reaction to the lidocaine and the assistant tried to tell me it was normal and that I was fine. I was left to sit in the chair for an hour while shaking violently and having my eye go numb. The dentist actually sounded irritated when I told him I wasn't numb and after nearly jumping out of the chair in pain from the initial drilling. I now have a gash in my gums from where the clamp went on my tooth for the filling because he shoved it into my gums so far, which of course I also felt. No one checked in with me along the way to make sure I was doing ok. I almost laughed in the assistant's face when, as I was leaving she handed me a referral card. I would never in a million years refer anyone to this practice. The front desk also charged me wrong.

I understand the questions that I had to answer prior to check in but I think there is a more efficient way to accomplish this. When I donate blood they now let me answer the questions on the computer. This would fee up your receptionist to check in other patients. You do a great job with appointment remindets however it would be nice to include the status of ones insurance and financial obligations prior to the visit especially for established patients. Getting a bill for a cleaning that I thought was covered was not pleasant. I could have put the appointment out a few months and used the money for a much more expensive upcoming dental procedure.

Very expensive, I paid $400.00 for two brackets for my daughter and had to paid other $190.00 for a bracket repair. I though the first paid was covering any repair during the treatment time. doctors said he would take away the brackets on November. I wish not to have any other repair. Everyone was great, I liked how justin has made his practice very new and modern from the decor in the waiting area to the iPhone app scanner feature to the forms done online. He is a young dentist that really knows how to draw in patients by keeping up with technology and trends. Marathon Repairs were accommodated for Sean and Nancy. Dedicated staff stayed well beyond the time the office was scheduled to close. The Dentist worked tirelessly. (We don't think he stopped to even eat.) We were grateful and surprised that so much unplanned dental work was completed for our family. (Our sore mouths are also doing ok so far.) Nancy was grateful that the Staff and Dentist were able to convince Sean to get the work he needed completed. This is a dental miracle, as Sean has been overdue these past 14 years!!!

I felt like I was in a high pressure retail sales store rather than a dentist office. The focus seemed to be on their scheduling and charges rather than my schedule and needs. I left frustrated and will be researching other dental options.

I felt that I was scammed as I had a coupon for a cleaning and whitening neither of which I got. The only thing I received was a plan of what you wanted to fix and I didn't have any choice in the matter of what I wanted done to my mouth!

Hi! We really became attached to our dental hygienist and are disappointed that she is not here anymore. The new hygienists were friendly, but our old one was outstanding. The new hygienist said a few times that two teeth might be cavities, but dentist said all looked really good.

Not pleased to learn that after I left the office a $25 credit was applied from my account to my spouses. This credit was not even mentioned to me while I was paying for my visit. Please do not combine our accounts. Carol is one account, I am another. Thank you! I probably would have allowed the credit to be applied to Carol's balance but I don't understand why someone from your office decided it was their decision to make.

I DO NOT like signing things I cannot see. Why can't you afford a monitor so we can see what your employees see. I did try to refer someone immediately they would not come to you because of the coupons you distribute in the mail. they feel they are false leading. they went to you once and never again.

My appointment was 11am, but I waited an hour to get in a chair at noon and had to call to cancel my eye appointment which was scheduled at 1240, which resulted in a $50 cancelation charge. For my first visit, my credit card was charged twice. On a good note, Dr Philipp is nice and informative about my procedure.

The receptionist was wonderful and friendly! She was so nice. The dentist was wonderful and friendly....he was also very nice. The dental hygienist however, was very judgmental and condescending, and I almost got up and left several times because it upset me so much. She kept commenting on how much gingivitis and plaque I had. I realize that my teeth are not in perfect shape, but as I told her several times, I"ve been dealing with a severe neurological problem, and the last 4 weeks I've had constant partial seizures. I cannot afford crowns at this time, and so my teeth are not forefront on my priority list, even if I could afford to have them fixed, which I cannot. I cannot afford to buy an electric toothbrush or to even get a prescription strength rinse. I'm broke, and I'm looking at a lifetime disability due to my seizures. She did not seem to understand that. I understand my teeth are her greatest concern, but she should be more sympathetic and less condescending and judgmental when cleaning people's teeth.

Denise was my heigenist & was very pleasant, gentle & professional. During my teeth cleaning, I believe the chair I was in, was tilted a bit to far down for me....I have never felt as if I was going to choke or not breath properly....I experienced a little of that during this visit. I did not mention it at the time, but will during my next appointment. Dr. Phillip was very professional & pleasant as well. Overall a good experience.

My experience was all good. My only concern was the reviews I read when I googled your name. I found the negative reviews hard to believe condering how well i was treated. Denise was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. She showed me the pictures of the teeth that do need work done (even though i have no symptoms yet). For me there is no rush but i will obviously have to get them fixed sometime in the near future. I will probably do one tooth at a time to see how it goes. (I have had a few nightmarish painful dental experiences in my past)

I would be more comfortable if you didn't have to use water when cleaning my teeth. I choked several times during the cleaning and the water would also go up into my nose. For instance, if I drink from a water fountain it comes out my nose. In my case, with the half paralyzed throat it seems there could be another way to do the cleaning. Maybe you could invent a new way of cleaning! That would be great!

My visit was ok, I did complain about previous visit for my son Chris Fetzer since I am the one paying the bills. He had a temp. Crown put on before Christmas and the lady (not sure) that cemented it on told him it was old cement and she wanted to use it up. This kind of comment should not be told to your customer. The temporary Crown fell off two days later and your office was closed for a few days for Christmas . He suffered for most of the holidays until he could get back in. When he came back the new crown did not fit and he was in the chair for 2 1/2 hours to just get the old temp re-glued. He had to pay a 25.00 fee to another appt, he had because he could not keep it. In our opinion there was no real reason to keep him in the chair that long to get nothing accomplished. Our time is money also. I have brought a lot of business to your office and money, I really like Dr. Phillips. I feel that we should be accomitated for the discomfort over the holidays and the 2 1/2 hours in the chair to just glue temporary crown back on. Julie Foster 602-323-7745

Dr Philipp and his team are fantastic. M visit was smooth and easy. Jessica cleaned my teeth with out any discomfort. I had an oral cancer screening that was easy and showed I was cancer free. Dr. Philipp was very thorough in hos exam and really took the time to answer all my questions. Good work!

Gloria was the assistant who worked on my teeth. She was wonderful. Gloria was very caring and sensitive to my needs. Dr. Phillips was also very understanding of my oral sensitivities and did his best to not hurt me. I will admit, I'm not the best or ideal patient though, I don't think I"m alone in this.

Dr. Philipp greeted me when I walked in, I was brought back to dental area almost immediately, tooth was repaired and I was out of office within 40 minutes. Great service and Dr. Philipp has great bed side manners!
