I go to Dr. David on a regular bases (yearly) and my eye just happened to start hurting. It even affected my sleep. I called the office the next morning and he was so great in working me in, even though he was booked. I also didn't have to wait too longer, either, although he squeezed me in. Dr. David was able to figure out what was on my eye and took the best approach to treat that he could. He even provided his cell number in case things got worse or I had issues...I mean, that right there shows me how dedicated he is to his patients. Dr. David also made sure I come back the following day (at no cost) to check up on me and make sure the approach in treating the issue was progressing nicely. This is why I think Dr. David is absolutely the best in Greenville as far as eye care.

Great experience with Nigh Eye group! Had to switch eye dr. due to an insurance change (and I really liked my former eye care place) - but this office had newer techniques for testing and went steps further to make sure I got the prescription and care that I need. Highly recommend!

LOVE the fact this office schedules routine appointments on Saturday. This gives customers who work your typical 8-6 M-F schedule the opportunity to come without having to take time off. Also like the fact that the attending physicians are always courteous & professional.

I had gone to another eye Dr three times and they did not get my prescription correct. I came back to Nigh Eye (should not have gone elsewhere, I learned) and they were very understanding of my frustration and made sure that they got my prescription correct the FIRST time.

Dr. David Nigh was great. He and his staff quickly conducted their exams and provided instant feedback. He and the staff were very friendly and my wait time including new patient forms was less than 10 minutes! They offer Optomap eye imaging as an alternative to eye dilation for a small fee. I highly recommend it! It gives a solid view of the back of the eyes that is stored as an image for record keeping and diagnosis.

I've been going to Dr. David Nigh for several years now and I am continually impressed with his thoroughness, professionalism, and friendly manner. Very friendly staff, quick & efficient service, thorough eye exam, and reasonably priced for out-of-network visits! I've been a patient at Nigh Eye Group for several years now and even though I've moved an hour away, I continue to keep my yearly appointments with Nigh Eye Group. It's a great experience all around. I also love that they take walk-ins and have appointments on Saturdays so I don't have to take time off work! I have seen Dr. Steven Nigh & Dr. David Nigh and both are thorough, personable, conversational, helpful, do their best to answer all of my questions, and I always learn something from them! Additionally, they have been accommodating when I've needed an eye exam to renew my driver's license, and when a new kind of contacts were not working for me they approved another type over the phone without any delay. They truly are the best in the upstate for comprehensive eye care!!

I have been a patient of Dr. David’s for years. He is excellent. He was out of the office yesterday so l saw Dr. Vining. She was excellent too. The office staff are always friendly. I have been to several ophthalmologists in Greenville but l feel l get a better exam at this office and it doesn’t take 3-4 hours. I have been to ophthalmologist and didn’t feel l got a real good check and scheduled an appointment at this office and paid out of pocket. I would recommend highly recommend them.

I can't recommend Dr. David Nigh & Tressa enough. I got an eye abrasion and was in a lot of pain. They got me in the same day, did an exam, and ordered a prescription for me. Dr. Nigh always takes quality time to answer all my questions thoroughly. When I went to pay, Tressa had already submitted it to insurance and I totally didn't expect that. I greatly appreciate that they are so thoughtful. In such a rushed world, I'm thankful they still feel like your hometown eye doctor. It means a lot.

I saw Dr. Hegener for the first time, and she was amazing. I haven't had a glasses prescription that has felt right in 10 years. She took her time and did two additional steps of the eye exam that no other doctor has ever done in the past, and I get annual exams for contact lenses. Finally, I have the right glasses prescription! Also, most of my exams at other practices have felt extremely rushed. Dr. Hegener was methodical and explained every step. I felt like I had her complete attention and she was not in a hurry to get my exam over with. I will be coming back to see Dr. Hegener!

One of the doctors was out sick. Instead of calling to cancel patients, they had another doctor cover the appointments meaning they were overbooked. I planned my appointment on my lunch break since my past visits have always been a reasonable amount of time. Instead I ended up waiting 10 minutes to begin the appointment and 20 minutes waiting in the room for the doctor who did not even do the complete eye exam. Overall a waste of time. Since I was already going to be late back to work by 30 minutes, I didn’t feel comfortable addressing issues of concern. I felt like a number squeezed into a slot just to fill the money till.

Waited 25 minutes past appointment to be taken in. Other people were showing up late for their appointments (up to 15 minutes after my appointment was supposed to happen, which was 30 minutes late to their appt time) and still being taken in first. Then being put back in the waiting room after intake to wait again. Staff was friendly and professional. I went in for annual check to get new glasses prescription. On the way out they try to charge me $90 for a contact exam when I declined anything and everything that wasn’t covered by insurance. Will never be going back.

She explained my issue with protein deposits on my contact lenses that my previous eye doctors did not explain well enough. Would highly recommend!

The main reason for this review being lower than a 10, was the fact I had to wait for over 30 mins past my appointment time to be brought back. However once I was brought back the visit seemed to flow a lot better. The office environment could be vastly improved. I know COVID is still causing issues, but the chairs were few and not comfortable and didn't meet the amount of traffic coming in as many people had to stand. One of the receptionist was one of the best customer reps I've seen. The other could learn a lot from her. She was nowhere near as professional and pleasant as her counterpart. The doctor was very pleasant and did apologize for my wait time, which was nice. He explained everything in easy terms and I felt he wanted me to feel like I understood everything about my eyes and conditions. Overall, a good experience that ended much better than it began.

The staff is friendly and Dr. David Nigh is an excellent, understanding eye doctor, but the wait was excessive. My appointment was at 4:20 so I got off work an hour early (3:30) and arrived there at 4:00. I wasn't called back for the preliminary part until 4:40 and saw the Dr, at 5:05. They apologized that they were running behind, but I had a 1 hour 5 min wait from my arrival until actually seeing the Dr. plus I missed an hour from work. Don't let this deter you because sometimes these things happen. On my previous visit I did not have this issue.

The staff at the Nigh Eye Group was very professional and kind! Dr. Hegener did a great job and made me feel very comfortable. The appointment was efficient and I was able to start on time. Often times I have to wait in a doctor’s office far past my appointment time so I was pleasantly surprised! When I needed to reschedule my appointment at the last minute they were very understanding and accommodating. So far my new prescription is great and I plan to continue using the this office in the future!

First visit to Nigh Eye Group. Touchless check-in. Walked in, they took my temperature with a contactless device, and cordially suggested I take a seat. I had barely sat down when they called my name. My examination included tests and level of dialogue I previously have not experienced. This was very encouraging as I am a long time rigid gas perm monovision contacts wearer in my mid-60s whose left eye is substantially weaker than my right. I'm looking forward to receiving my new contact lenses.

The receptionist at Nigh Eye Group was very helpful in working me into the Saturday schedule to investigate an eye concern that developed late on a Friday. Dr Steve Nigh performed several tests and explained the results that showed some areas of concern. He referred me to a retinal specialist and helped coordinate setting up an appointment with them. My experience with Dr Steve Nigh and all of his associates at Nigh Eye Group was excellent. I highly recommend them and thank them for the excellent level of care they all provided.

Stumbled across Dr. Nigh’s office when googling an office that was opened on Saturday’s. They had great reviews, so I decided to give them a try. Plus they accepted walk-ins! I have bounced around from place to place and have never been truly satisfied with my experiences at previous offices to warrant another visit. I came in as a walk-in and was told my wait would probably be about an hour. They were able to see me much sooner than that, so that was already a plus. I had tests performed on my eyes I had never seen done before and Dr. Nigh also took the time to show and explain the results to me. Everyone in the office was very friendly and welcoming. This will definitely be my new “home”. Thank you!

As a severe myopic, my vision has always been a huge source of frustration and I have had several eye surgeries over the course of my 60+ years. For some reason, when we moved to Greenville from out of state I was having a hard time getting a prescription for lenses that really worked for me. A friend recommended Dr. David Nigh. I hesitated at first because he was an optometrist, not an ophthalmologist (which had always been my eye care professional of choice), but my friend spoke so highly of him I finally broke down and made an appointment. I am so glad I took her advice. The service I received from Nigh Eye Group was exceptional. In addition to the typical clicking through the machine ("Which is better: 1 or 2?") Dr. Nigh took a lot of time to talk to me about my eyesight and how I see the world around me. I did not feel at all rushed and felt he really understood my concerns and wanted me to get the best vision possible with the eyes God gave me. While I still will see my ophthalmologist for other issues on occasion, Dr. Nigh will be my go-to provider when it's time to get my next refraction.

A golden lesson that I’ve learned as I get older is that most times less glitz and glamour leads to better service. I had been to Dr. Nash before and told my wife that it may have been the best eye exam that I ever had (I’ve been wearing glasses since 2nd grade and I’m nearly 64). However, I switched and went to one of the glitz/glamour/Taj-Mahl eyecare centers. Suffice it to say that I came back to Dr. Nash because he is personable, explains things to you, actually does some work in the eye exam (rather than delegating every task to staff who seem miserable and would rather be someplace else). Who took the time to do the exam, I didn’t feel like I was “infringing” on his time, and he answered questions that I had about my floaters, whether my cataracts were growing, my eye health, and the change in my vision since my last exam. In other words, I guess, Dr. Nash has a good bedside manner and you don’t feel that every minute is measured in terms of dollars. I don’t know the demographics of Dr. Nash’s patients, and I’m all for business casual in the workplace. However, as I said above, I’m as old as dirt and I’d rather see staff in a medical environment dressed a bit nicer than jeans (and of course, some were wearing the tights that have the jeans look). Decent slacks and a blouse, to me, just signal a more professional atmosphere (and I understand that is “form over substance”, but I’m here for an important medical exam, not ordering burgers and fries).

Dr. David Nigh was absolutely wonderful. This was my first time seeing an eye doctor in Greenville after having grown up in PA and getting my eyes checked there. I searched online for a new eye doctor in Greenville and could not be happier to have come across Dr. Nigh. I had many questions and concerns and he was so patient in hearing all of them and answering/explaining as best he could and as clearly as possible to ensure I understood everything. It was easy to chat with him about topics not related to the appointment as well, as we briefly talked about each of our times in graduate school. I was a bit nervous before meeting Dr. Nigh. But once he walked into the room, that all went away. I look forward to seeing him again in the future. Allison at the front desk was pleasant and informative. Her demeanor also helped to remove any initial nervousness. Sometimes, people at the front desk can come off as distant. Allison was far from that.

Nigh Eye Group explained every aspect of my eye exam, gave me a reason for each test and really explained, in layman's terms, the state of my eyes. In the past I have gone to some of the best eye doctors in Greenville. I found Dr. David Nigh by accident - just needed a quick prescription. When he was doing my intake he asked questions about my vison NO ONE had ever asked before and made observations NO ONE had ever made before - I was hooked! I have been going to him for over 6 years now and would go nowhere else! During that time I developed cataracts in both eyes, managed to have one operated on but not the other. For many of those years I was having financial problems. He was right there working with me for the least expensive way to keep my eyes going. He never gave up trying to make my vision better or just work! Very hard when I had one distance eye that worked and a near sighted eye that just got worse and worse and worse! His kindness, optimism and tireless tenacity in giving me the best vision possible got me through those years. I finally was able to get the other eye operated on and am now wearing glasses and have amazing vision for the first time in years. I have other minor issues that he explains, tells me how we will know if we need to act and what should be done. He always explains everything and what it means. He is the best doctor I have ever had. He is assisted by an amazing staff who are equally supportive of me. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Nigh Eye Group - other than I will never go anyone else!

Dr. David, as they call him, is personable and highly qualified. I always feel his primary goal is my total eye health. He give me good advice on decision making and I trust him completely. I had a piece of metal in my eye and Dr Nigh is awesome. When I got to the office the girls upfront got me in and he came in done an inspection of my eye and took a pic of it to show me. We dropped in last minute to see if there was an appointment. The office worked us in at the last minute. They were very helpful, especially Dr. David. He saw my nine year-old son who needed glasses for the first time. Dr. David made him feel at ease and explained everything very well. He took the time to teach both my boys the parts of the eye (shown to them on a high definition picture the assistant had taken of my son's eye). I cannot say enough great things about our experience. Thank you so much!!

His thoroughness made me feel I had made the right decision to change doctors. After my appointment I received a coupon in the mail from Greer Vision for a $60.00 exam. My daughter was in an auto accident(not her fault) and left with a Traumatic Brain Injury with no insurance or income. I pay all her bills which is difficult as a 66 yr old widow. We could both have gone with the coupon for $120 total whereas I paid $238 for the 2 of us. The only suggestion I have is If you could do some coupons or have a benevolent fund to help disabled people who have nothing it would be helpful. She has no disablity yet in 2 1/2 years and because she has no children she does not qualify for welfare. Otherwise, we always appreicte your kind service. We just have not been able to come on a regualr basis because of finances. Thank you.

I was very impressed with the Nigh Eye Group. This was my first visit, and I will definitely return. They were able to quickly diagnose my predisposition, and supplied a few methods of correcting it. They are exceptionally knowledgable, friendly, and most importantly, excellent teachers.

It is unusual to walk in and receive care in less than 15 minutes. Thankful for a 1/2 page patient information form, have seen 4 to 5 pages for medical treatment. The most friendly, accommodating, and professional staff I recall dealing with. I am glad to think that I can receive medical service without leaving frustrated with the service, schedule, insurance, or general demeanor of a de-personalized rote behavior so often encountered.

After we checked out we learned that it wasn't a routine visit but we had been singed up for a "contact fitting". I love that Dr. Nigh (and his office) are clearly Christian and because of that I will recommend ya'll to anyone I know. Once the misunderstanding was pointed out ya'll were eager to fix it. It was awesome! Dr Nigh is such a nice man. I'm expecting a baby and I made an appointement for a dialated eye exam. He told me that might not be a good idea and that he didnt want to expose a pregnant person to the medicine used to dialate the eyes, so instead he gave me a free retina scan exam which was even more comprehensive. I appreciated that very much. He really cares about the well being of his patients and is very friendly when you speak to him.

I walked in with no appointment and I arrived between other scheduled appointments. I was willing to come back, but they fit me right in. After seeing the doctor, I was so glad I came. I had an infection/allergic rash on my eyelid. It couldn't wait until Monday. I am new in the area and it was nice to be treated kindly and promptly as if I was a long-time patient. That meant a great deal to me. Thank you to everyone who made my visit great and I will tell my family and friends.

I would recommend Dr. Nigh but I would not recomment Visionworks. I wasn't impressed with the manager, Craig/Greg. His personal hygiene left a lot to be desired. It took him about 45 minutes to enter the information; which in the end he hadn't enter my insurance information and had to start all over again. The prices were extremely high. I took my prescriptions to Costco. According to your office, there have been complaints about him in the past. However, it apparently isn't an issue your office's wants to get involved in.
