I was a patient of Dr. Foster's, from her former practice. Oconee Vision Group is a full hour's drive from my home, but we never doubted that Dr Foster was worth the drive. However, I knew nothing about the practice other than it's where she moved to. The staff there was amazing. Very friendly, welcoming & helpful. I'm very glad I took the chance & made the switch. Still feel this practice is worth the drive.

Love Oconee Vision Group. Staff is very friendly and Dr. Hackleman is very thorough in his examination and always friendly. I love the new technology with picture of the retina instead of dilating pupils to check for any abnormalities with the retina. The office manager was very helpful in finding a nice frame that fit my face.

Dr. Hackleman is very thorough, and he explains results carefully. He is personable and caring. The only negative part of my experience is how long I have to wait. Twenty minutes is too long to wait before being called back for an eye exam. My time is valuable too.

From the front desk, pretesting to the doctor's visit it was an exceptional appointment. I filled out appointment request online one evening at my home. The receptionist called me to schedule my appointment which was given to me within 7 days of her call. I happen have been by their office and since it was my first appointment I knew there would be paper work. I picked up to fill out prior to going. Upon appointment arrival I was greeted and sat in comfortable waiting area. The pretesting technician was excellent. She asked appropriate questions pertaining to my vision and listened attentively to my answers. She was gentle and precise in her testing. Dr. Hackleman was great. He spent the time which I thought was above average to be sure all questions were answered and listened for concerns. I was very pleased with my care, the cost of my new contact lenses and the length of my entire visit. My husband has even made an appointment for his eye care.

We were patients of Dr Hackleman years ago and was so sad to see him leave our area. After he relocated it was never the same. Many years passed and then we moved out of the city into the country. Tried a local doctor and wasn’t really happy there either. Knowing that my glasses needed to updated I started googling and guess who I found? Our favorite eye doctor. Made appointments for my husband and I. It was so good to see Dr Hackleman. He was the same guy we knew from years ago, the staff was amazing, and they treat you like family. Great visit with Oconee Vision Group. Super friendly staff from the receptionist, to the op Tech, to the optometrist, to the optician. I know whenever I visit, they will take care of my needs. I have had a hard time finding the right fit for my eye glasses. We have already tried progressive lens, lined bifocal and single vision lenses. The staff is always so helpful and willing to work with me. I am now going to five the work space lenses a try.

Had such a wonderful visit here! After not going to the eye doc for several years, you can imagine I was slightly nervous. The entire staff was lovely. Dr. Foster was patient with me and even let me look at my “X-rays/scans/pictures” of my eyes on her laptop. They’ve gained a forever client and I will be recommending them to anyone and everyone. Left with contacts in my eyes and an appt for next weeks to ensure they are still working for me.

Very thorough exam and explanation of my vision health. Compared to a couple other offices in the area these guys are very professional. I saw Dr. Hackleman. Had to wait a few minutes for my appointment but that's an indication that others have found what I learned, that they give quality care. They accepted my vision insurance, $10 copay. Can order glasses there or get your RX and buy online, but we ordered there to support local and be sure we got quality eyewear.

From Kim the technician, who is so kind and cheerful (and patient) to Dawn the Optician, who takes care and patience to get the design and details just right (as well as helping out with the choice if you want given her vast experience), this practice lets you know you are in good hands. I have never received more thorough information from an O. D. than Dr. Hackleman. I’ve been getting yearly eye exams since the third grade, 43 years, and this office has the procedure down pat. Everyone seems to have their specific role and they all perform them well. The doctor takes the cake as far as I am concerned. He saw a couple of things in my pictures that didn’t look quite right and retook them to be positive of what they were. Yes I do highly recommend this team of professionals to care for your eyes and eyewear needs.

I have been a long time patient of Dr. Hackleman and was excited to visit his new office in Watkinsville but it was delayed by the pandemic restrictions enforced at my scheduled date. His staff worked with me online to reschedule for the first available date. I was also given a courtesy call the day before to remind me of my scheduled visit. Upon my arrival I first noted the pleasant appearance and convenience of the location (a straight shot off Hwy. 78 on SR 53). Safety precautions for the still restricted visit were clearly posted at the door and front desk, with sanitizer available and encouraged. All staff members were wearing appropriate face masks and the waiting area seating was marked to assure distancing. I felt very safe and had no worries of contamination from any of the office facilities. I was called back promptly and administered several pre-exam tests that were each clearly explained by the doctor's assistant. My exam by Dr. Hackleman was the usual pleasant experience that I have come to expect and enjoy over the years. All my special needs were addressed and a course of proper prescription and correction was discussed and mapped out before any action was taken. The contact lenses I was given for trial seemed spot on and I was amazed at the comfort and clarity compared to the prior lenses that had given me problems. I also ordered a new set of prescription glasses in my favorite frames. The assistant was very helpful explaining my payment options through my insurance and copays. Follow up plans were made before I left with the promise of a call when my new glasses and contacts came in. I received a thank you and "See you soon" with what was surely a smile under the mask. I look forward to my return visit. I would not hesitate to recommend Oconee Vision Group to anyone looking for a great optometrist experience with doctor and staff that truly care. They took care of all my needs and made me feel very welcome. Thank you Oconee Vision Group.

This was my first visit to Oconee Vision group for an eye exam. I found the staff very friendly and helpful and the doctor very thorough. The optician found some discounts to help pay for what insurance didn't cover on my new glasses. I look forward to a long relationship with this office.

We've been patients of OVG (previously Dr. Hammonds) for over 25 years and have always received the very best care and attentive service. The staff continues to be knowledgeable and accommodating in every area. Wait times are short. Screening, testing and treatment when needed always flows smoothly. Doctor was patient and thorough in exam. All tests are explained in great detail with ample opportunities for questions. Doctor was very approachable with questions and thorough with answers. The technology is amazing. Because of a new scan system I was spared dilation. My insurance (wellness benefit) was pre-approved BEFORE I arrived for my appointment! What was covered by insurance was clearly explained, as well as what was not. I was not pressured to purchase glasses or contacts, and chose not to get a new prescription on this visit. Recently I needed clip-on sunglasses for my eyeglasses. Staff went to great lengths to acquire exactly what I needed. Our family is very blessed to have this long time relationship with OVG and will continue to use them for eye care.

My appointment was with Dr. Hammonds who I have been seeing since I was 6 years old. He is a wonderful doctor and I am very sad to see him go. I am not happy that the new owner has decided to start charging a seperate fee for contacts when he knows full well that Dr. Hammonds only charged that once. I don't think it's very nice to come in to an already existing practice and start charging more. We have been loyal patients for YEARS and now we are being crapped on. Dr. Hammonds' patients should be grandfathered in and you can charge the new and YOUR existing patients the fee. I wish Dr. Hammonds wasn't retiring.

Miss Momeyer. I'm very sorry for your feelings of surprise at the contact lens fitting fees. Our staff has been trained and instructed to review the fee structure with patients opting for additional services, such as being fit in contact lenses. Such fees are truly the standard of care as there are several additional steps and materials involved in this professional component of an examination. Furthermore, in order to file insurance on our patients' behalves for this and other services, we are required to asses these fees to all patients as a matter of compliance. Although "grandfathering in" sounds nice, it would be considered fraudulent in the view of medical and vision insurance plan compliance. As I indicated in my phone call to you, I am very sorry for your first impression being so negative, and offered, and continue to offer you or your parents a professional courtesy in the value of your fitting fees for any non-insurance related fees in the future. I hope the have the opportunity to meet you personally, and look forward to serving you and others in the Oconee County community my family has called home for nearly 10 years. Dr. Jeffrey Hackleman
